In terms of the 2 new races I think the real issue in all of this is they spread themselves a bit thin by creating 2 different races and putting them out at the same time, they're basically incomplete customisation wise in terms of hair as well as the obvious missing opposite sex of both. I honestly think this wont be sorted till 6.0 at least as creating new races tskes significant amounts of time though in the case of the newest ones having created one sex at least reduces the work creating the other if the other is not too significantly different.

The issue is that the races were rushed out to begin with.
This is a signal the SE was ill prepared and put out an unfinished product, functional in all sense of the game, save for player's ability to customize them which is deemed a low priority.

Well, to SE this is a finished product. That's why "finishing" them is low priority.. They are already finished! If and when they add extra hairs that is just a bonus.

On the totally hypothetical chance that someone considered posting pictures of modded characters on the official forums of a game that bans you from making any third-party modifications to your character... it's not a great idea to do that.

You are right and i wouldnt be surprised if the reason why viera has not received the new hair is due to the hrothgars... They simply dont want hrothgars to feel BAD because they would be the only race that have not received anything...

This is probably the reason and it's a stupid one. Having one race that doesn't get new hairs would be better than having two races without new hairs. Vieras being restricted doesn't prevent jealousy towards the rest of the races. It just causes more of it because Vieras can be jealous as well.

Hrothgar is a mistake that should have be deleted from the game, nobody asked for them.

Allow Hrothgar to switch between Hairs & faces- instead of locking their hairs to specific faces.

Follow up, so I stumbled across this picture again.



As you can see, the left image has the face clipping horrendously with the face. The right image has the same hair with very minor edits, with a heavily edited face specifically catered to fit the hair. My speculation was that they originally had hairs interchangeable with each face, probably completed work on hairs before at least this particular face. Perhaps, two seperate teams/devs working on each. It's obvious in the left image the hair most definitely was not designed with that face's dimensions in mind. Who knows what actually happened, but this image is doing SE no favors here. Not to mention that if I remember correctly these images were posted very close to the release of Shadowbringers, and there were supposedly other images of Hrothgar in an early state leading to Shadowbringers. I think they ran out of time.

Pretty much what I've been saying.

They made a design choice to focus on making these heads this way, the only "undone" element planned for them was gonna be the head gear (which they were gonna work on post release before the team pulled a slick one on Yoshi).
The Hrothgar manes are a CC feature. The Viera are given ears that suck up like at least 50% of the area on the top of their heads that other races could use freely so they get unique hair.

But given the nature of things they know there's less choice here so they're making more stuff at some point for em. I don't really expect them to release just 1 or 2 styles when they add more but ehh, people gonna do what they do until then and Imma eat popped corn.

I thought that at first to, but it could easily just be a case of someone making a mistake and going back to fix it.

The first one was head 3 with head 1's mane. IF it actually fit right I'd think sure, they played with the idea. But it doesn't, the clipping is stupid bad.
So I think it was simply a mistake they went back and fixed.

I mean, in the recent LL where they talk about Job changes when they got to Sam they used a Female Highlander in Sam gear with a Sam Sword standing in the GNB pose for some reason ... prob cause who ever made that title card flipped through some poses and thought that one looked nice. These mix ups happen, not much reason to pick them apart.

Looking at the OP of the thread you linked, that seems to be a program that doesn't actually edit the game files, and is something more akin to Reshade.
Mods, on the other hand, do edit the game files. So yes, you could potentially get banned for using mods like that. However, SE doesn't really go out of their way to ban people using those mods, unless the person makes a huge fuss about it, and ends up getting reported for using them.

I can't say much to the rest of the conversation here is going on. I don't really care about clipping or if the hair my Viera uses is much of the race fantasy of the Viera people. I just wanna look good without all those fluffypuffy thick hair on my back. I want more short hairstyles. I want to use the lightning hair, I would buy Y'shtola's and I want to use my earend and bought hair from gold saucer and so on. I knew there would be restrictions, but that few styles they added to Viera for the start is not what I expected. BUT I don't wanna change. I went back to Miqo once but regretted it. Viera is what I wanna be. They are tall and female and elegant.

Otherwise, I agree with you. I missed my unlocked (and purchased for real money) hairstyles, but i don't want to change my race. I like viera more than any other.

Add another +1 to that. Viera finally feels like the "right" race for me: they're tall, elegant, and aloof. Yet from someone who changed between male and female every few months, and changes their hairstyle every few days/weeks... they also feel limited...

Plus, is there a REASON over half the hairstyles have those little flowers?!
