Honestly considering going back to Vanillalander or Elezen. I love Rava Viera looks-wise to bits, but to not have any game-legal way of having access to even at least all the base hairstyles, but in addition to that ones I have either purchased or unlocked I just get bored. I was stupidly expecting them to talk about it in the last live letter like at least a "we're working on it" but there's just radio silence.

To be honest I feel worse for Hrothgar who's hair is tied into their face, thus forcing them to Fantasia everytime they want to change it in the slightest.

I would be satisfied if they would at least put a disclaimer in the descriptions of hairstyles that Ronso and Viera can't use, lmao

Funny that ones that do mods for the game can make hair styles for on both new races but SE can't. Now I have seen pictures of male Viera that ones did mods for. SE needs to quit slacking off on two new races.

Do we have an official statement about those mods ? Considering they are not allowing us to cheat (in opposition to botting mods) are they allowed ?

And how often do mods cause serious clipping with some gear? Or give some wierd ass graphic results when used with other gear. modders get things done because they don't check their mods with all kinds of gear options.
Also what would it do to the graphics load to have hires textures/models for everything on especially lower end systems?

While I must admit this is s***, I must also admit this doesn't come as a surprise to me. Seeing as both Hrothgar and Viera are (and have been from the start, everyone knew before ShB came out) limited and excluded from a lot of options (hair, headgear, both genders...) it's not shocking this hairstyle is also not available to them. I mean Hrothgar alone already have to fanta for a different hairstyle, like... who thought of this? /shrug

Then again has no one noticed the firmament glam options being... questionable? There a lot of posts about how rediculous it is that that new hairstyle is not available for Viera and Hrothgar use, but did no one see the mad clipping of the 'waistbelt' the shirts have (why do they have that in the first place and why is only this part dyeable?!).
As there have been topics about crazy clipping (of tails/ears) and there the common response has been; 'just fanta to something without tail', maybe the 'just fanta' comment should be included for these hair topics?

I for one don't think the 'just fanta' comment is a valid one. Why include races, be it races with tail or different face or eartypes, that will either have gear/hair not available or for some reason have their tail clip through the middle of a bag-waistbelt-whatever-thing.
I hope they will look into this and find a way to make it all work...

Tbh viera and hrothgar are both designed poorly why make 2 races with special heads and skeletons and not update the old races to match so that you can release stuff at the same time for everyone cas watch hrothgar and viera are gonna get new hair or customization options and everyone else is gonna wine cas there was a patch where they were left out

It's very disappointing. Some hairstyles like Form and Function could be tricky with the braid placement and the Viera ear "base" being longer than Miqo ears, but things like Gyr Abanian Plait, Great Lengths and Samsonian Locks seem like they should be pretty straightforward.

Honestly not all that upset. I dont mind waiting another patch more to see if they deliver on what they said they'd work on.

Mods aren't allowed because they change game files, but the community generally gets the impression as long as you don't do anything that harms the integrity of the game itself or gives some stupid advantage it's another "don't talk about it and we'll blind-eye it" - because obviously any changes are client-side, not server-side, so only the person using the mods can see them. Instagram is awash with players using mods to "pretty up" their character, but there's evidence of SE taking action against players who, to put it bluntly, go too far (I'm sure you can figure out what that means)

Yes many mods (we'll use hair in this case because that's what the post is about) will clip in certain poses or with certain gear and it does not look pretty. But a lot of base hairstyles clip really badly too, like there's certain gear you're pretty much forced to use a short hairstyle or it'll clip.

I got a feeling that the hairstyle issue is just part of the problem with Viera and Hrothgar remember both race lack their opposite sex right now, I just cant help the feeling that they pushed both races out in their current state to get them into the world to add to the lore as well as give players something without having to choose one or the other, wouldnt be suprised if they're working on the Male Viera and Female Hrothgar for 6.0 and want to get the whole lot sorted then.
