People have been requesting Ishgard housing for years, and SE is (or at least should be) aware of this. While yes, it hasn't been confirmed, with all of the correlations (screenshots of the map with potential housing plots and the same zone pathways as other housing districts, not to mention all the heavy hints dropped in NPC dialogue, it would be nothing short of a scummy move for them to not deliver on this. Especially with all the (albeit engaging) work they're having players do. The amount of teasing for Ishgard housing is astronomical, you can't blame people for believing it's coming.

They have never trolled like that, but I do know people who are in denial like to say "they are just trolling" though. SAM/RDM is datamined? "SE is just trolling the dataminers!" (They have never trolled dataminers). Lore is written up as if it is giving excuses about why male vieras are going to be missing and then male Viera are no show at the Fanfest that announces viera? "Male Vieras are totally coming! Yoshi-P is just trolling like he always does!".

If there is no housing coming to Ishgard then I'm done helping with restoration. Why should we spend hours and hours and millions of gil helping with it if where not going to get anything from it.

I'm doing it for fun, story, lore, scrip rewards; the housing is just the dream-come-true cherry on top.

SE could have just opened wards, though I'm glad they've made it more than that; but if the content isn't fun for you and you're only doing it for the very end reward then definitely don't burn yourself out on it - we can pick up the slack. Plenty of others are doing it just for the exp.
