Instances Sharing Progress will fix Ishgard Restoration Crossworld Congestion.

Greetings! I come today to propose this plan to the developer team for fixing future Crossworld Ishgard Restoration concerted works contribution and FATE participation:

My proposition is an instance system in which progress bars for the Ishgard Restoration are shared, and once it has been filled, the FATEs will begin and conclude at the same time- therefore preventing any abuse by changing instance once the FATE ends.

All new content since Stormblood has had instances to prevent congestion, and it would truly be a blessing if it were introduced to the Ishgard Restoration event, alongside a way to synchronize the progress bars and FATE timers in each instance.

The event was originally made for everyone to contribute to, in order to help lower population servers, as well as servers that simply didn't craft as much.

All was working fine and dandy, pardoning congestion. This congestion lead to discord toward the very people that were visiting other servers to help craft alongside them.

"Homeworld vs Wanderer" was an easy target to vent onto, and one that was misdirected and not the cause of the issue, as congestion still occurred without wanderers once the bar filled and the FATE began.

As soon as the change went into effect, it was clear that things were slowed to a crawl, and as earlier mentioned, wouldn't solve the issue of congestion.

Instances with shared progress and synchronized FATEs would fix all of this and more. It would allow crossworld assistance once again with zero issues, and accommodate every player who wishes to take place in the event- whether they be a crafter, a gatherer, or a happy log carrier who doesn't have either leveled, and simply wants to have fun in this lovely game.

I thank you for reviewing this, and thank you for the wonderful game you strive to maintain and improve. Have an excellent day, and safe travels!

No it's fine as it is. You don't need to rush the event. Let the people experience this event in their own pace. Everyone will get there.

Except for the continued congestion once the progress bar fills completely, as well as the pace at which things proceed being at a now slug-like pace.

Even when ignoring the pace at which things complete, congestion will continue to be an issue once the progress bar is full and the FATE scheduled to begin.

That needs a solution, which was one of my primary ambitions in proposing this, as well as proving that crossworld contribution was not the issue.

It is less of a problem than what it was.

No, it doesn't fix the issue of the instance being completely full.

What it does achieve is maximising how many individual people can experience the event.

If world visits are allowed and all instances are filling to capacity, every time someone travels to another world and takes part in an additional instance besides their own, that takes away one spot from one other person.

Blocking world visits prevents this doubling up.

World A will have 300 people from World A. World B will have 300 people from World B.

Whereas with world visits allowed, 50 people from World A could then travel to World B, take 50 spots in that instance, and then only 250 from World B can participate. Multiply by however many worlds are in the data centre.

With a solid cap on numbers and more demand than there are places available, visits can only cause total participation to be reduced.

This is what people were objecting to, and what the ban successfully prevents.

Instanced areas imply multiple instances for multiple people, that means that total participation would be increased, not reduced.

There weren't 900 people trying to join one server, most were still spread out crafting on other servers. That means everyone can join in the crafting and the merriment rather comfortably.

While it is true that maybe 3+ Instances could fill, that's more than was held in the past or the present, and would still benefit everyone.

You also skipped over the fact that the firmament is still being congested once the progress bar fully fills, regardless of there being no crossworld interaction at the moment.

This needs remedying, and instances are the easiest way to handle it, and re-enable crossworld assistance at the same time.

I read your post. I was addressing a specific point within it.

Whether there could have been a better overall solution or not, with the current setup of single instances and strictly limited participation slots, frustration towards wanderers taking multiple turns was not "misdirected". They were - undeniably, mathematically - reducing the overall number of people who could have a turn at participating in a FATE.

Your "solution" of multiple instances with a shared timer also assumes they can in fact implement this system, and simply need to have it suggested to them. They may not be able to.

All I want is to suggest an amiable solution to make things accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Yet all I'm met with is cynicism.

Will it require extra coding? Possibly, but these are talented developers, and I know that they care about their game.
