never look just at a single fight, no matter the class looking at a single fight is bad by default, just take eden 1 and 2 as proof of that, e1 has add phases (not just the literal adds but also the orb phases) that vastly push certain classes above others without being really important in a way that changes the fight one bit and e2 as a fight is nearly more of a training dummy than the actual training dummy which again is a lot more kind to certain classes than to others, which while "more important" than the add thing in e1 still gives a wrong picture of how strong classes actually are
Looking at the 95% percentile for all eden bosses blm is 330 dps below smn and buffing blm by 5% would mean giving him about 725 dps, at this point samurai as the strongest melee would fall 500 dps short of blm, thats more than smn has on blm right now and if you really think blm absolutely needs to be top dps because of some "blm got no utility and is pure damage" line of thought which totally ignores what the current rdps metric actually measures that would still leave sam in the same boat, so congratz, now samurai would need a 500 dps buff to be on par with blackmage, sadly at this point samurai is 900 dps above the weakest melee so guess we should buff that aswell...
btw, while we're at it lets just patch the physical ranged out of the game, the second you let smn stay as is while buffing blackmage not a single one of the physical ranged would be even worth taking unless you need the 1% extra stamina, not even the 1% mainstat, the stamina. like i dunno, if there is a single class (aside from samurai) that at the high end is above blackmage, maybe , just maybe lets rather nerf this one class instead of buffing everyone else
