About the people who were AFK, as most people might not know about it...they might be resting after doing several things like: (gathering mats / crafting, quick synthesis for the event, did other dailies/weeklies and newer content) maybe they're just tired and don't want to miss the event due to timezone difference as well then just waiting for the Concerted Works to commence. You never know that those people did the work too and just needed to rest.

People aren't talking about these kind of AFKers, we're talking about people who have been there for hours, and there's not really any excuse for people to be AFK in there for hours doing absolutely nothing. Even if they are "taking a deserved rest", they shouldn't AFK for long periods inside the Firmament because this can lock out people trying to do turn-ins.

Multiple instances wouldn’t work in this kind of content unless they divided the server progress in the fates by the number of instances

I'd like them to add instances specifically for the fate which you have to actively enter through some entry point - perhaps the board (possibly able to enter as soon as works are announced so there wouldn't be a bottleneck of people trying to enter at once). That way there'd still be the regular firmament instance with singular server progress.

I'd also like if only people that contributed x points were able to enter, but sadly that completely excludes gatherers as they have no way to track their contribution atm (on that note, I wish there was a way for them to submit the materials they gathered to some pile crafters could take them from to use - binding so they couldn't resell them).

If there's a concern about AFKers continuing to congest instances so players can't turn in collectibles, then perhaps SE can give players a 10 minute buff as they first zone in. Crafting a Skybuilder collectible while in the zone resets the duration.

The 10 minutes is plenty of time to visit the vendor if a player wants to spend scrip they've already earned, to turn in collectibles they've already crafted or trade materials to crafters who are actively crafting in the zone.

If someone wants to round robin going in for the sake of trying to camp for a FATE that no world other than Spriggan is close to spawning, let them go for it. As they get kicked out, someone else will have their chance to get in.

As for people complaining their world's progress is now slow since the change, I got news for you. EVERYONE's progress is slow. The number of contributions needed to trigger the Stage 3 FATE is significantly higher than the amounts needed for stages 1 and 2 combined. Go take a look at SE's tracker. Every world except Spriggan is showing Stage 3 works pending, even those worlds that had unlocked Stage 3 early Wednesday.

Anyone camping a congested instance hoping for a FATE spawn is doing a disservice to everyone on their world because they're keeping the crafters who would be making contributions to speed up the progress from getting in. Do the smart thing. Get out unless you will be actively doing something that contributes to progression or are just visiting the vendor quickly. AFKing at the Skybuilder's Board is not going to make the progress bar move faster.

The simplifications aren't hurting veteran crafters either lol, don't let anyone tell you differently. All they've meant is we've had to rework our macros/rotations (something we do ANYWAY when there's new content I might add), and being an omnicrafter is no longer mandatory. Though I still recommend it because... melding and repairing on all the things! Heck yeah!

And anyway they've explicitly said that endgame content is coming. We just have to build up to it first. Literally! Which I'm looking forward to. Just as much as my overmelding heart is happily enjoying the plunging materia prices! You want to talk about expensive? Guh. Endgame overmelding your crafters/gatherers is friggin' brutal man. I can drop 5 million on that easy. I'll gleefully take advantage of the price plunge to stock up!

me personally my solution to this problem would be just to halve or otherwise drastically reduce scrip gain from servers that aren't your home. it would keep away people who are just there to idle but also invite people in who would just genuinely like to help

An NPC to do hand ins outside of the firmament would be great.

Some of us no longer care about the fate. I can farm tons of scrips without it and there are no unique rewards to the fate. It's quantity, not quality. Right now, the convenience of being able to hand in and free up my inventory means I'm doing my crafting in the firmament. If there was another area I could do my hand-ins, I'd go craft there instead knowing that my spot could go to someone else who does want the fate if if popped up during prime time hours.

Personally I'd like it in the Crozier, so I can access both my retainers and the MB if needed.
