    It is nice that they are trying to get more people involved with crafting and gathering, my hope is that the developers find a way to balance these activities to be done by those newer but also have activities geared towards those of us who have spent a lot of time leveling, outfitting, melding to squeeze every ounce out of our rotations. Reading this message it does seem like they have that thought in their mind, it is just a matter of testing the waters with this initial Ishgard Restoration project.

    Crafters are having problems now that hunters had ever since World Travel was implemented.


    I remember when people getting locked out of their own world because a S Rank would have spawn and people from all over would flock to that world and noboy else could get in. The devs either figured out how to manage that or they just did nothing and people got pissed off and stopped traveling too much. People who had no interest in traveling and just tried doing things on their own world were also affected, as the wanderers would (and still do) snipe the hunts and kill them before everyone has a chance to participate. Hunts take from 5 hours to 3 days to respawn.



    Now people are doing it again, traveling to the worlds where the firmament FATE is about to pop and locking people from their own server from participating. You don't travel? Too bad, everyone from elsewhere is here now and you can't get in to participate in the FATE of your own world. Those FATEs spawn each 8 hour and are incredibly missable content.


    Yet, things like gathering from legendary nodes have restrictions when world traveling. They don't run out if too many people are on them, do they? Nope. They locked them out because they're probably concerned with the market board. Yet, materia clusters dropped by hunts that can be converted into sellable materia and all the sellable stuff that you can get from the firmament are A-OK for wanderers to farm from all over the datacenter. Go figure.



    Add all the other problems, like people not being able to get houses because some douche with money and PROBABLY BUYING GIL FROM RMT SELLERS are doing lots of smurf accounts to buy dozens of houses on entire wards making the extremely limited and shortsighted house minigame even more hard to get in, or having very little large plots making either crafting stuff for them not worth it and making their owners having extreme advantages with gardening items, and you start wondering if the developers even care if people who pay money every month are being able to play the game.

    Considering how poorly this has rolled out. This sounds like a job for NG+. For the current players who can't do it and for future players who will have never been around.

    I don't see why a system that was designed to allow different servers to finish at different times results in EVERY server finishing at roughly the same time.

    If the purpose is to encourage players to take up crafting, a server being "too slow" would make a more encouraging environment, in my view, showing players that crafting would be more lucrative on their server, as there would be a bigger market. I have a friend that has been intimidated by crafting but when I mentioned this restoration might be done within a day (to try to encourage her to jump in while it's active), she felt there was no point. It drove her away further b/c it would be over before she really got into it.

    Let lower crafting servers move slower. Let them have some control and influence over how fast their own server progresses. If THEY want it to move faster, let them take up crafting. Let their server reflect their own population.

    This exactly. You have to grind as for DoH/DoL materia to get enough of the scrip to buy the stuff they have on offer in IR. But when the fate pops? You do like 4 of the contribution things and you get 500 scrip. That's crazy. That would drive players to other servers to quickly rack up 4000 scrip with just a little bit of effort -- or virtually zero effort if they didn't even bother to contribute to the stockpile -- while locking out other players from doing that content. And they'd do it not to 'help' the other server, but from greed, and greed that deprived another player of that same reward.

    I believe there should be a contribution requirement for participating in the FATE.
    Say (Players highest crafting Tier*10) points - to prevent freeloaders from jumping in.
    Its all right if you are an other worlder but then contribute to that servers score first.

    I have got kicked out once despite being present in the room at the start of fate - The game just froze and I disconnected.
