I'm happy to see the issue being addressed. I think Yoshi P is amazing and FFXIV is a wonderful game that I've loved since it's 2.0 launch.

Really? First you need to "rant" (as you say yourself) because of his wrong decisions that cost thousands of players their fun and enjoyment - especially since they were well-aware of it - and suddenly you think he is amazing him despite the fixes won't even be practical or not even sure what those "emergency measures" would be?

I am sure it's one of his famous wrong decisions (TM) that could've prevented with a more talented designer.

I’m not even that impressed with Yoshi’s response honestly. He’s still assuming people are going to be benevolent and stop doing it, when in fact it will be the opposite. Since announcing a potential hotfix down the road the instances have gotten MORE congested as opportunists are now looking to maximise exploiting the world visit system before it’s gone.

(1/2) Yes, really. I don't "suddenly" think he is amazing. One can be displeased with the original implementation while also being pleased with the fact that people's issues are addressed. I've played many games over the years. I've seen companies that do not respond to their customer base at all. I will never get everything I want nor in the way I want. I've learned that long ago. But I've also learned that I can voice my displeasure as well. I am not happy with how this implementation launched. I am pleased that it is being recognized and addressed. So, yes. People can have complex emotions and thoughts on a subject. I can appreciate the overall game and those who put it out while also being displeased with some implementations of it.

As examples:

I'm not happy with Conan Exiles changing their thrall/pet (now called followers) to include a cap on how many people can have. I am happy they are adding riding and riding combat to the game. I do like the new thrall leveling system they're adding. The cap will change the fundamental play style for the game and will greatly impact people with multiple bases and who have map rooms set up around the world for everyone's use. Yet many people are thrilled to see the new leveling system. I love their building system. I stopped playing ARK and went to Conan Exiles because their building system was so much better. We'll see if I keep playing.

I'm not happy with Atlas (still in EA) being so unstable that official servers often have players get BattlEye kicked for clients not responding every time they cross a zone. Yet the game is set up to literally move around maps and explore. Nor that there is such finite space available for people to lay land claims. Yet I'm happy with much of the game's play style in general. But the disconnects are a big deal breaker if not addressed. It's too early to tell if I will keep playing.

When BfA was launched in WoW I played and raided a lot but I wasn't happy with much of the implementation systems in the game overall but worse was the lack of response to player dissatisfaction. I stopped playing.

When Civilization 6 changed not only the play style of the game but how they packaged their DLC content, I wasn't happy. I stopped playing the game.

(2/2) FFXIV has made many changes to Summoner over the years that I haven't liked. I'm not a fan of the new DoH system because I loved the old one the way it was. But I'm not so selfish that I can't see where it helps the community overall to become more engaged in DoH and DoL content. Only time will tell how these changes work out. Ishgardian Restoration and the World Visit system do not work well on a grand scale. There are too many people trying to do it. And I've never seen so many people get in on anything crafting the way they have with this.

So back to my answer, yes. I can love the game and the people who put it out while also being displeased enough to rant about something that I don't think lives up to other standards of the game. I can also be pleased to see a quick response. How will it work out in the end? Only time will tell. But with my overall experience with the game, it's time I'm willing to give to see how it does. But that's me. You may be different. And if so, that's fine.

I have no clue why people decide to play games by devs they apparently don't like. This game is great, this mistake is probably honest, and I trust they'll fix it. It's stuff like this that discourages games from trying new things.

Dude I don’t either, I read a lot of these posts I see here and I’m like “and you are still playing FF14 why?”

We can and should bring up issues and concerns with the game in a polite and respectful manner, personally insulting Yoshi P and the dev team does nothing but convey the mentality of a child who is not getting their way.

"We will watch to see if the situation gets worse". I can't imagine HOW it can get worse from the current situation. I'm on my own server and I can't get in. This is a horrible system and I hope they learn not to EVER do something like this again in the future.
