I really do hope something comes of this, as I basically am throwing all my cards on the table. I have met a few great people on several servers....but I have yet to find exactly what I'm looking for....an unconditional and willing partner for Raynstorme...and for me.

I’m gonna approach this a bit differently than most.

While my main is a Female Hyur PLD on Excalibur, I have alts everywhere, and willing to make new alts or transfer for the right person. I’m an older gamer IRL (42). While I am looking for someone to spend much of my game time with, I am seriously looking for an IRL partner. I am male, so I am looking for F IRL. If your avatar is current, you're playing a female character, while looking for something serious with a real female. This is detrimental to you and it's time to make a choice. I think that there is the biggest drawback.

It truly confuses me why so many people seem to rely solely on this thread when it comes to finding your special someone.
Instead of sitting here in this thread and hoping for your true love to show up, you could also try approaching people in the game.
A simple "Hey, I like your glam..." will do the trick to start a conversation with someone.
But yeah, just like Rasikko said, having an female character while looking for a real female isn't ideal. After all, your special someone would also like to see some eye candy

You're avatar is not you. Its a game. It may make a difference to some but not all. Its what's inside that matters. and if you are looking for love, just like in real life, Ya just don't walk up to people and say, "hey, I am looking for love, find me here" It normally just doesn't work like that. Maybe just making friends is all that is important. If it turns to something else, it does. I am not saying hide your intentions but to point blank come out and say, I want something serious down the road in real life is not going to make people come running to you.

I know so many people pass me up because they want more way too soon or because they want love. They don't take no for an answer that I am not ready. A friendship is the foundation to everything. Many people pass me up because I say, "hey, I am just happy being friends right now." Seems loneliness is more of the problem then actually wanting to give love and be loved. Everyone wants love and to find that special person. Some have it already.

Having a common gaming interest is great. it can be a nice start to a friendship that may by chance develop into something else if both parties want it. Its a chance you're just gonna have to take. But to close off others because they aren't ready and want to get to know ya better or they are putting you in the friend zone or just leaving them out of your life because they don't fit you "profile" or thread request is sad.

I have some really good friends in game. I am not looking for a partner, so please don't think that way. I just like to read the posts at times because some of you are really just looking for people to hang out with. If so, hit me up. We can run some stuff. hang out and enjoy the game the way it was intended to be.

With the exception of the idealistic beginning statement because game or not avatars do matter. Game life unfortunately mimics real life and its not just 'some' its the majority. Racism, exclusion, sexism, ageism, etc. all still exist in the game and all you have to do is try to find a bond partner as a Roe or try to join certain fcs and see the chats and discords or sit in Limsa for a while to see what I'm talking about. Hell just look up a bit in the posts to see all the people who only want to 'date' certain races. (I mean it's the same as saying "It's all about the personality" when no one sees the personality at first sight let's just be real. Personality most likely seals the deal but just like a car it's the initial look of it that peaks your interest, the interior and performance is what seals the deal. That said, the rest of the above quote is spot on!

Some people make mistakes. Some people jump into things way too quickly. I'd like to think I learn from my mistakes.

I've met people that want to take it so slow that none of the goals are in sight. I've also met people that went from 0 to 60 within a day or two, which brought forth it's own brand of toxicity. Maybe I'm not asking for much....or maybe I'm asking too much. I don't know.

But in the end, I guess, I'm not playing this game to find someone, I play it because downing the content is fun. That doesn't mean what I said in my listing isn't true, it just meansI'm still here, and still playing, regardless of the outcome.
