    Three class ideas in one post. Your already beating me to the punchline. Your also not as close minded as I am so thats even better. If the idea cant come to life as a healer why not a dps or tank? Now that I am somewhat awake I can actually try to work with this. mako guns with something like actual turrets or even healing bots with mako/aether beams or a aoe dome. A ranger would as I mentioned yesterday be a no brainer as some kind of sniper. Now the mediator is where I draw a blank. We would have to give the fellow heavier armor than the clothes they normally wear. Not to mention that the skills they have in speech would be focused completely on provoking and buffing the party. and of course a gun of some kind to fit the bill. A shotgun would most likely fit a tanks close range nature. Irvine from ff8 uses a shotgun so that should keep things simple. Also forgot to mention Vincent from ff7. He has a weapon that they simply call the long rifle so it would be no stretch of the imagination to see something like that on a dps.

    I don't get how literal some people are trying to make these guns lol Like you have to actually be injected with a syringe bullet to get a heal. Like in Resident Evil Outbreak you would load the specialty gun with anti-viral pills and shoot your friends to heal them lol we just accepted it as a game mechanic.

    I don't believe my AST heals are INSIDE the person i'm casting it on. It's just around in swirls that recover HP.
    Not to mention the "bullet" could easily disperse on the outside of the person kind of like when a projectile hits the Protect/Shell spells in cutscenes etc and you're helping their own aether recover their HP.

    ranged have infinite ammo in this game. If you want to get literal then we'd have to go back to FFXI crafting and rationing our ammo and if you run out better hope your hand 2 hand weapon is enough to pull you through an encounter. I could see a mix of both Alchemist and using this type of gun, like when you attatch plantfood to a garden hose lol Mix various concoctions and spray your team in a recovery cone or aoe.

    Yes - laser healing please... a channeling crit-able HoT that keeps people alive at rapid rate.

    You and a handful of people are the only ones who seem to understand this. I would rather these other people just stop beating around the bush and just say they dont like the idea straight up instead of giving out all of these half baked excuses like appealing tropes. Then they want to talk about realism lol. Hey realism means this whole game would have to dissapear. Im going off topic though. You have brought up yet another interesting healing concept for firearms there is so many options it makes you wonder why it isnt done more often. Potions, tranq rounds, shattering rounds, grenade rounds all designed around the concept of healing. I think its just a shame that we may never see something like this in the long run. Hey though nothing wrong with trying and hoping for the best.

    And yet another cool concept. A heal beam from a laser based firearm. I love it! It could harm enemies and heal allies with dot/hot based attack/healing respectively. We could even go the extra mile and make it all stack. That would go with your rapid rate of healing and make it even better and could also lead to an interesting way of pouring on the damage. Brainstorming like this is how a plan comes together.

    Ive never played OW before so I had to look up her bios real quick to make sure I know what the heck im talking about. This fits right in. Sniper rifle the doesnt harm allies but instead heals them. Her rifle also does dot to enemies she hits? thats freaking sweet! I like how she also carries sleep rounds for control as well as biotic hand grenades for aoe healing. Something like this screams rpg mechanics. Ah forgot to mention her ultimate. I love that when she activates that any ally she hits with her rifle will also gain a damage boost. Thats prime limit break material.

    Another concept that may hold some value could come from the division franchise. In that game the healers use grenades, medical bags that are stationary aoe heals as well as nanites and drones that follow the person you want healed. I dont know about you guys but magiteck drones or nanites sent by a healer that fights with a rifle sounds cool to me.

    The question you always have to ask with these suggestions is this: Does it still make sense to have Mind as a main stat?

    Or: Will it look mismatched/out of place wearing all the same healer gear as the casters.

    Because, pretty sure unless/until there's some major changes/overhauls, they will continue holding to keeping all the healers in the same gear.
