    Stop being so extreme. Lord, I ALWAYS pull wall to wall but some of these replies are so dramatic & frustrating. The tank sets the pace of the instance, end of story, whether they wanna pull wall to wall or pull smaller mobs, it's up to them. Even if they do the latter, you'll be in the dungeon for a few extra minutes at most, it's not a big deal. Honestly can't believe you're telling people not to queue up if they pull smaller. Once again I literally ALWAYS pull wall to wall but this is just ridiculous. For your sake I hope you change this poisonous outlook.

    not all dps have aoes at that level right and tank alone will melt enemies now in low level dungeons.

    I'm sorry but you can't be taken seriously when you write such statements. In lowbie dungeons the damage is so pathetic that you can pull everything in sight and still survive without everyone needing to be amazing, and in higher level all the way to Expert Roulette even the Devs are saying a decent party should clear everything in 30 mins or so. And they play it right down; ive been in groups where things would be wrapped up in 20 minutes in the Expert Roulette, without any stress.

    Also, Healer Damage is so low that stacking several pack for leveraged AoE of 2 DPS always is more efficient as long as the tank survives. Might be stressful in some cases, but it is definitely quicker.

    People need to appreciate that not everyone can pull wall to wall, that's fair, but your rant is childish and factually inaccurate.

    "Hey *tankname*, Can you grab a couple packs at a time? The healer says they can deal with it and we can AOE them down faster"

    "Hey guys, I'm new to tanking and not comfortable with large pulls, gonna take it a little slower"


    People just wanna rant and not talk to each other anymore. Either that or they "my way or the highway" it up and just leave/kick.

    I side with the op here. I don’t like it when the tank does huge pulls, I can’t keep up with that kind of damage and usually causes a wipe. I’m not that good at the game and having so much stuff happening at once and trying to evade so many enemy attacks while attempting to stop and heal is a virtually guaranteed wipe. Small pulls please. I would rather take 30 minutes than attempt a 15, wipe and take 30 to 40 minutes anyway because the tank is being gung ho.

    Akademia Anyder: three packs, one pack, first boss, 2 packs, 2 packs, second boss, 2 packs, 2 packs, final boss.
    The Twinning: one pack, one pack, 2 packs, first boss, 2 packs, 2 packs, second boss, 2 packs, 2 packs, final boss.
    The Grand Cosmos: 2 packs, 2 packs, first boss, 2 packs, 2 packs, second boss, 2 packs, first pack and spawn another, final boss.

    The only hard part is actually AA with its first pull, which for lower gear might struggle a bit. The rest is only 2 packs, where proper cd and ogcds will suffice.

    However, for older contents, there might be some pulls which is almost impossible to pull off. For example, Ala Mhigo second area, there will be 4 packs of mobs, and one of them actuallly have hard hitting brute types, not to mentioned consistent bombardment in that area, it might be better to pull double mobs only. (I have tried rush that with whole party ready and still fail the 4 packs pull)

    So yeah, communication comes into mind. If you really are a tank and have no confidence (yourself or party), ask at the start: big or small?

    blame the healer if your big pull fails if he/she vote big

    PS: Reprisal is 10% reduction on packs now, try it! unleash your masochist traits!

    Ok, i know i know. Obvious troll is obvious. But just incase anyone is taking him seriously and believes his spew i do feel the need to take a minute and debunk this particular lie. A single enemy will die faster if the group focuses on it and uses their single target abilities, this is a fact. But a whole group of enemies will take longer to kill if you go one by one. Lets look at some maths. Ill use a low level(18ish to keep the math simple) black mage for the example(they have the skeleton of both an aoe rotation and a single target one, and both are simple enough to understand without playing the class), but you can plug in any class who has at least the basics of their aoe kit and figure this same thing out yourself.

    So, for single target a black mage at this level is using one spell on repeat - Fire 1 - until they run out of mana, then switching to a recovery stance for a couple GCDs before switching back to their damage stance and continuing Fire spam. In an aoe pull the same mage is spamming one spell - Fire 2 this time - until out of mana, recovery and repeat. Fire 1 takes 2.5 seconds to cast and does 238 potency of damage(180 base with 10% trait bonus and 20% stance bonus). Fire 2 takes 3 seconds to cast and does 106 potency of damage(80 base with 10% trait and 20% stance bonuses) to each target in range. In 15 seconds the single target will go off 6 times for a total of 1428p of damage(or a little over 95 potency per second). In those same 15 seconds you get off 5 aoe casts which nets you 530 potency per target. A single pull is usually 3-4 mobs, so that aoe is doing 1590 or 2120 potency total(so 106 or 141pps). So even a minimum pull is more effectively downed with AoE. You can make an exception if one enemy in a group has a super dangerous attack, but those are fairly rare. And as for AoE, Fire 2 doesnt have damage drop off and the target cap is super generous(as in, more then you can realistically fit into its radius). So if the tank pulled 2 groups instead of 1 the mages damage output just doubled. Doing 3180p damage every 15 seconds is certainly better then doing 1428.

    *Standard disclaimer that the levels that classes get their aoe attacks vary and the potencies for said attacks are all different. Regardless, every class hits harder with their aoe if there are 3 or 4+ targets then they do using single target.*
