I just want better character models. All of say, Limsa, shouldn't be looking better than my clay self.yep, yoshi p gets asked this in almost every interview and has given the same reasons to everyone. They'd rather work on future content than spend the manhours creating HD textures for the millions of assets they have in game. He doesn't believe in staying competitive in the market "because the game is the prettiest" but rather staying competitive with its content.
IRC, don't their hires have to be fluent in Japanese?Atm the only way to get any Higher definition effects is to Mod the game. Its a grey area of course its not officially sanctioned BUT almost no company bothers to act against those doing cosmetic mods as they dont alter the gameplay mechanics or have any malicious effects.
Theres a modding community out there thats included quite a few things like higher quality hair, longer hair than normal, modded costumes, HQ eyes, HQ base bodies the infamous nude ones but also SFW Versions with HQ underwear etc. Im actually suprised SE isnt interested in Hiring some of these people as many mods are really good and honestly some could easily be incorporated into the game very easily.
They have to, and that's one of the problem, they don't have much people to choose from, if we compare it to international companies. Especially since mobage developing is more valuable and profitable nowadays for younger blood.

If they do something graphics wise that's will be with 6.0 or 7.0 when they will start using DX12.
PS5 officially announced and releases end of 2020.
That means that the next expansion which prolly coming summer 2021 will have to support it.
FFXIV could also benefit from HDR capability.
But textures need an upgrade badly.
I mean no, if you think that the resolution the textures are in on the screen are the resolutions that the textures were created in you're mistaken. Textures are usually created at insanely high resolutions and then just compressed to fit whatever space limitations they have. Somewhere, on some system, they have the uncompressed textures and they are much much higher res than what we have.
ENB is made by a private developer, who himself said will never make one for ff14, in fact who also had some not so subtle choice words about the game and the players here.
I believe that Yoshi-P himself explicitly stated in an interview they actually didn't have "high-res" textures and that what they had in the game was indeed the highest resolution they made.I mean no, if you think that the resolution the textures are in on the screen are the resolutions that the textures were created in you're mistaken.
