Spending Poetics on tokens for old content that have their Ultimate

So, I literally cannot spend my poetics fast enough, due to just not really needing anything that require poetics these days.

Think it'd be great to be able to buy say, Alexander Manifestos, using poetics now that Alexander Ultimate is coming out. Normally I'd be down to just try and unsync farm A12S, but can't seem to find any PF for it, nor do people really join them lately.

Feel like this is reasonable, seeing as once Ultimate comes out, the weapons and armor (am aware there is no 'ultimate' armor though) from Alexander will no longer be constituted as a 'status' symbol, even if they already lost that impact due to unsync farming.

We can already spend poetics on items that are used to augment older gear, and with the development team constantly admitting to/agreeing with 'glamour is the endgame' even if their actions betray them, being able to collect armor from content that isn't being farm would be a great poetics sink.

The only thing I ever purchase with Poetics are Unidentifiable Ore which I trade to Bertana for Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil.

Stacks up to 999 so its a good way to sink Poetics if you don't need it for alt classes.

I'm of the opinion that if you want something from a piece of content, you should have to do that content. If you are having trouble finding a group to do A12S then you will likely need to form your own. Personally, as far as poetics go, I dump all of mine into demicrystals when I'm at or near the cap. It's a quick 40k gil if you vendor them and I didn't have to do much of anything for it.

Honestly, probably would be better if they could just convert, at this point, all of the Alex items to be bought with poetics. No more inventory clogging up with tokens that you're saving or whatever. Not that I'm trying to turn this into an inventory debate.

But, practically speaking, it just seems sensible. Probably reduces some data load somewhere, too. And, kinda is still basically your suggestion, without the middleman. Maybe it would be easier for them to put tokens up for sale, just so they don't have to redo the gear purchasing and loot drops.

Yeah, though, I agree that there could stand to at the very least be some sort of consistent use for poetics. Been grinding all my jobs to 70, and running out of things to need, or even glamours I want. I'm nearly tempted to start buying up all the relic items I'll need for all the relics I'll never actually bother completing.

Well, yesterday my retainer brought me a Nidhogg's Scale, so I think your belief is already out the window. I've never done Nidhogg EX, and don't really want to either.

Is there any great point to that now that desynth never fails? I suppose it's good if you know you can get important/useful items out of it if you're crafting with those. Upping your "rare item" chance seems like it would still fall into the same reasoning.

As for selling something for gil, personally have little use for the stuff myself. Probably spend gil less often than tomes.

Cool. What's the difference between raid content and trial content? Most raids outside of alliance raids are just a single fight anyway. Seems like a trial to me, if not slightly modified difficulty. I still got the reward for doing a 'harder' duty despite never completing it. What's the difference?
