He never referenced pokemon ever actually.
He wants gays to be second class citizens, and thinks the president is at war with christianity. So whoever is advising this moron is bat shit crazy.

Hmm, well someone sneakily used a quote from Pokemon in parliament (or w/e it is in america), haha. How come you have his face in your sig?
Anywho, with 5x5 bags, the mannequin system and drag and drop actions & abilities, 2.0 is definitely going to feel different thats for sure!

I'm fine with implementing familiar UI elements, as long as we have the option to toggle between the two. I don't see the bag system being very controller friendly but I can see advantages to it form a keyboard and mouse perspective. As per WoW, it would not be in SE's best interest to completely copy the UI from WoW as WoW was not built for gamepads from the ground up. XIV needs to be able to cater to both styles of play. Making different options (and hopefully fully supporting the mod community as well) is the most conducive route as methods have been created from the playerbase, even in WoW, to accommodate itself.
To be honest though I do believe he is referencing "different from XIV as it is currently" not different from WoW. Even in that vain he would be correct.

Because it is my intent to mock him, like I would a pokemon trainer using all zubats or zubats to advise his "campaign" in his case.Hmm, well someone sneakily used a quote from Pokemon in parliament (or w/e it is in america), haha. How come you have his face in your sig?

I would like to touch on my Yoshi comment a little more. I do not by any means believe all of his ideas are bad, and I think a year ago he brought a much needed breath of fresh air to the game. He also brought a face and a voice to the community, these were all things we needed. I feel XIV in the original form, while quite dry and empty in most respects, brought very original ideas to the genre, ideas that we never got to see fleshed out fully and probably never will. I want to see more of YoshiP's original ideas.
I agree to an extent. It's worrisome to see the customization of the armoury system and gear choice go the way of the dodo*Because it is my intent to mock him, like I would a pokemon trainer using all zubats or zubats to advise his "campaign" in his case.

*puns on multiple levels completely intentional.
you mean mr. Tanaka´'s original ideas. it may be a bad decision to have got ridd of him. he was restrained by bad system & design and deadline. we need him back.Because it is my intent to mock him, like I would a pokemon trainer using all zubats or zubats to advise his "campaign" in his case.

I think it's a mixture. I do like that Yoshida's giving a face to the community, opening pathways of communication between developer and end user, and cleaning up the game mechanics. There are some overarching Tanaka policies, judging by the particular titles he's overseen as producer, that really make me scratch my head. I understand the concept behind implementing certain ideas but to not refine them to a reasonable level by taking player feedback into suggestion was incredibly frustrating.
I think, conceptually, vanilla XIV could have been a masterpiece. Judging from seven years in XI though, out of touch, seems to be an understatement. A major issue for me is the GUI and I don't think the team at SE is really capable of creating a very fluid one that balances usability with interactivity. Unfortunately that's the major problem with a lot of these ad hoc changes and I don't blame Yoshida for pressing the reset button. I'm just going to miss fully customizing my character. Hopefully though I can at least fully customize my UI as that's been a promise that they still haven't kept since the game's E3 showing in 09'.
