Even then it doesn't seem far fetched to have the system make it that it stored items straight into a persons storage if need be. And as for her having to decorate the large plot, had she gotten it, that would have been fun for her. She was all excited cause she said she wanted to make a moogle themed BnB with a sweet shot and boutique on the main floor where she was going t sell the crafted clothing items she makes using the mannequins as models. She would have had fun for days setting that up. She is a fan of the SIM's game and that's how she views this. But having to reset all her items in her home to where it was? that would have been tedious and frustrating for her because shes such a perfectionist and trying to line up everything exactly how she like is would have upset her. So as you can see there is a big difference between how she would have handled the large plot as appose to having to reset her house as it was when she had to reset her lawn after trying to store her items trying to rush back to get a large plot it took her a few hours cause she started shaking a lot the stress of the situation took its toll on her.
It would have been nice to have a reminder from the patch notes. she reads those. But woulda coulda shoulda. the point is the plot she wanted she got to and was there for some time before someone else took it. the series of events that worked in her favor to get their first may not ever happen again and because of a short sited system that was in place she was cheated. It just seems like common sense to simplify for the player the move system. And your forgetting that my wife was non stop fund raising for three weeks. she didn't have time for much anything else. how many people you know in the game can manage to raise 53 million in three weeks? i honestly didn't think she could do it. but she did. That alone was a pretty impressive thing and she had a right to feel cheated her prize.
Yes she has a right to be upset. I have also had a house taken from me because I was one of those with launcher issues when they released shirogane (plus at that time houses showed as empty when in reality someone had already bought the house, the server just didnt want to update and show it as taken). It felt unfair and I felt cheated. The difference with your wife is that she missed information. Sure, information that they could have added in the patch notes but still out there for anyone to find.

And like I said before, IF Ishgard housing releases people will relocate and Mansions will open up.

Regarding items, I don't remember if my furniture was in the storage when i relocated or in a pile, but if it was in a pile its is stupid yes.

In the end there is alot of things they can do to make housing better but as of now it seems they're only trying to put a bandaid on it by releasing a few new wards every now and then.

I'm not understanding about putting items into storage, does it not automatically do that for you? I thought it did?

Even searching for relocation on the Lodestone gives you information.

If it gives you any hope, pictures released of Ishgard restorations look like Housing Wards so if we're lucky we will be getting Ishgard Housing at some point where your wife can hopefully relocate to a Mansion.
I was just looking at the site you sent and Im confused. From what i read it says according to this it says the items were supposed to be put automatically in storage and that's where they could be found?! So why couldn't she relocate?

"Upon relocation, placed furnishings including those normally discarded after removal will be put in a storeroom at the destination plot. See below for further details about storerooms.

While the limit of storerooms is normally dependent on plot size, the limit for all plots will temporarily increase as follows to accommodate relocation:

    Indoor Furnishings: 400 Items
    Outdoor Furnishings: 40 Items
Provided that the numbers of furnishings is within these limits, the relocation can be completed even if they exceed the storage limits of the new location. The furnishings will be temporarily kept in the storeroom of the new plot. The furnishing storage limits when relocating are the same as the placement limits for a large estate hall. Therefore, if a player relocates immediately after patch 4.1 and does not use the storeroom prior to the relocation being completed, it is not possible to exceed the limits, regardless of the size of the estate hall."

So according to this she shouldn't have been prevented from relocating cause of her furniture? I don't understand?

And what she said rang true, She said it would be pointless unless she planned on giving up the game entirely because she didn't want to pay a monthly fee for a game shes not paying and because of the housing rules they have set up now if anyone tries to step away from the game for more then 30 days they loose their house. So everyone is in effect held hostage to remain subscribed to the game paying monthly fees or face loosing the house and everything in it. depending on how long you are gone. She also reminded me that she and I, during the Mog Station sale, spent about 100$ on mounts minions, and in her case, decorations and outfits, and it would all be a waste if she stopped playing and it frustrates her. I really cant blame her for that feeling. And that's another thing, there's new housing items in the game and on mogstation and she would like to get them but she has no room to use them. You'd think SE would want to promote more purchases of their online items for more profit by increases the item cap in the houses or provide more large plots so more players can get those larger houses for more items to be placed. Frankly id like to see a ward of only medium and large housing. Most people want these larger houses in the first place and if a player is willing to put in time and effort to raise the money they should have the opportunity to get those larger houses. Considering that Ishgard is all about the noble houses wards with medium and large houses only would make alot of sense.
As I get older, I find I am not the avid dungeon runner I once was 20 years ago and the housing here frustrates me. Hubby and I still play here but we also found a farming game called "Farm Together" a few months ago that might be attractive to your wife. It is fun and relaxing and she can farm and decorate to her heart's content I downloaded it from Steam, it is not expensive and has xtra content you can buy cheap if you wish or simply use what they have plus the free updates and events they supply. You guys can also visit each others farms and help out. May be worth a look. Good luck to you both.

Having friends who have relocated and sized up this patch, I can say yes, having furniture placed should not have prevented your wife from relocating, and all her future should have gone to storage

Then why did it give that message and why couldn't she relocate it makes no sense. And OMG if she ever found out. I only posted hoping maybe, just maybe i could appeal to SE the kind of players there are out there like my wife and may see if they might consider raising the item cap but now after reading this and seeing how my Wife's been basically screwed over Its really upsetting. I just dont understand if what im reading on this site is true why she the plot didn't relocated her.

Your wife most likely had too many items placed and stored together. Medium houses can have 300/30 placed and 300/30 stored, this adds up to 600/60 which is a lot more than 400/40 storage of large house.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

Except according to this it says the storage is expanded temporarily for the move. So she still shouldn't have been prevented from relocating. This is getting more and more frustrating and confusing.

It's not additive increase. It's flat large house storage limit size. If you have more than 400/40 items placed + stored together you can't move. The storage increase is meant for moving from a large house to medium or small plot.

I'm a bit confused tbh. I moved from a small house straight into a mansion before the 5.1 maint. It was just there and I freaked out and instantly relocated. I didn't think I would get any shirogane mansion or anything so I was like f**k it I'm taking what is available! And I'm very happy I got it. It's actually the exact same as where my FC house is just in another ward. But I moved and I never put any of the things in my house into storage. They all went into storage WHEN I moved. Was this a special req purely for the 5.1 new wards or what? 0.o
