Roleplay Solo Dungeons - Can we just stop Square?

I'm currently stuck on the final boss in the 5.1 scenario in very easy mode. I even mapped keys to the pet bar, avoided all the visible AOE's, used the 3K attack most of the time (#1), and the AOE attacks when the adds appear. I get him down to about 20%, and then the damage to him stops, but it increases on my character, and I die every time. Can't complete it, can't skip it. so I'm pretty much done with the MSQ.

I'm missing some kind of trick, so if anyone know it, please fill me in.

You need to use the limit break once it gets the damage invun.

Hmm, I didn't see a limit break. The scale bar is present, but no button for it. I'll make my 15th run and check again.

Edit: Several more attempts, Keep dying before I get to the phase where LB (button 5?) is usable. I think I'll wait until someone does an instruction video, or they nerf it. Totally impossible for me right now.

If you'e dying, you're both standing in easily avoidable AoEs, and not spamming Ala Morn which you should be. The skill heals you for slightly more damage than the auto attacks. It's right on the tooltip.

Drachenlance is a dot. Keep it on the boss. Use Stardiver on cooldown. When adds are up, use Horrid Roar (the game even tells you to do this). Spend all the other time spamming Ala Morn, which is about 90% of the encounter.

The Limit break is on the bar the entire time, it's simply not usable until the boss goes invulnerable.

It does not need a nerf. It needs you to pay attention to the tools they give you.

Button 1: Your main combo. Spam this on the boss.
Button 2: Your DoT. Use it once every 15s on the boss.
Button 3+4: Your AoEs. They are on a 6s GCD so just alternate them as a combo. These have a huge range of 40y and 80y, so keep the boss targeted and just use them whenever the boss summons adds. No need to target anything but the boss.
Button 5: Limit Break. Use it immediately upon becoming available. It doesn't do damage, but it will instantly put you into a cutscene that finishes the fight.

As for the OPs request, please no. I quite enjoy these mini-battles. I wish there were more of them.

I was hoping "very easy" mode would be just walk up, hit the boss once, and he falls over dead..

There's a few attacks that aren't just simple AoE markers that might be tripping you up:

1. He does a couple of column attacks in a sequential pattern. It's random which order he does it in, but these will be at roughly to his 10oclock, 12oclock and 2oclock from his point of view. They're marked on the ground as a column with faint yellow lines on each edge and down the middle, but these lines are very faint so might be missed if not paying attention.

2. One of the circle AoEs has some arrows pointing in 3 directions out of it before it goes off. When that AoE lands it also damages in a line in the direction of the 3 arrows even though it's not marked on the ground, so make sure not to stand in the projected path of one of those arrows.

3. You can avoid a lot of extra ground AoE by noting when there are enemies on the walkway behind the boss. These are responsible for a lot of the circular ground AoEs that appear and you can kill them with your slot 3 AoE attack to avoid all of that extra dodging.

4. When he runs to the middle and summons a bunch of mech adds in a circle around the room, just use your slot 3 attack to take them all out with a single hit. They lay down blue column AoEs around the room which are possible to dodge while the boss is doing its own starburst column AoE, but it is far simpler to just kill them all with one ability before their AoE attacks go off and avoid that hassle.

I recorded the fight the last time to analyze it. After the big radial AOE, I get my health back up, and then he casts a fire explosion called Terminus Est, and I'm dead. It looks like it may come from the little adds around the outer edge of the arena. I guess I'll have to try killing them before this.

Edit: Finally got it. Tried to kill one of the little adds, but I couldn't target it. but this time, the Terminus Est didn't cause the fire explosion or kill me, so I finally managed to complete it after maybe 30 attempts. This encounter was NOT fun.

Thanks for all the help though folks. It helped greatly, but I still don't know how I avoided the explosion on the last run.

Its already been nerfed. Youre playing it in very easy mode. Thats the nerf.
