Why is new housing restricted to FC purchase only? I want my first house!

I do understand why the new wards have been made available to FC's only. What is bothering me as that all the plots they've vacated in the lower number wards are still sitting vacant and CAN'T be purchased because of the stupid lock out timer system. It's been well over 8 hours since the first FC's relocated this morning, and people have had all day to relocate to more desirable plots. It's time for these open plots to be made available for purchase to us first-time plot buyers. Come on SE, this is absolutely terrible!

While I understand the point of the timers, I really don't see why the timer needs to be invisible.

IMO they should make two changes.

A. Make the timer visible so everyone knows when the plot is available.
B. Disable transfers into said plots until the timer is gone.

That way the system still cuts down on people selling plots as intended, withou tleaving people clicking for hours.

I don't think you are the one to say what an FC needs and doesn't need. As far as entitlement who's "need" is greater? The private owner (1 person) or an FC ( a dozen or more active players)? The amenities and FC size, I feel, should determine the size of plot that even an FC can own based on need. I think "need" plays a role and it should play even a bigger role concerning FC vs Private owners. How to do this in theory is another topic for another day.

Care to explain why an FC needs a large house when the only difference between a FC house and a personal house is the airship room and personal rooms, and 1-2 extra gardening plots? Which doesn’t get any bigger or provide anything special if it’s attached to a large house, by the way. Everything that can be accomplished with a large FC house can be accomplished with a small FC house.

The reason FCs get first dibs on new plots is because back in Shirogane, private individuals snapped out houses extremely quickly, even larges, screwing FCs out of a place to host their FCs (remember, additional rooms too) and all their facilities and space for them to gather, now in the hands of a single person.

Since the first ward expansion in Shirogane, FCs get first dibs now to counteract this, giving larger amounts of players a better chance at housing facilities. Individuals transferring just frees up housing for others later on other wards that aren't affected by the FC Only lock.

It's an annoying system but the lesser of evils till something better comes in.

Because fc housing has things in it, such as fc rooms, fc workshop.

The benefits of which cannot be distributed equally. Especially in a large FC. Most of the time only the FC leader and their inner circle will benefit from things such as the garden, workshop,airships and submarines.

The real question is why SE doesn't make these things available to individual players.

And to OP, you had heaps of time to rank a solo FC to rank 6 and stick 4 alts in it to buy an FC house. Even now, you should be able to do so and at least get a small FC house.

Honestly making it FC first is stupid as many players created their own FC just so they could get a house, so SE's decision to do FC first is a punch in the face to private owners who chose not to use this underhanded tactic to get a house in the first place. It should be open to all, or none.. not exclusive to one group.

Individuals shouldn't be able to buy large housing plots. And no, you can't do everything with a small FC house that you can with a large. Large houses have more slots for gardening, for crafting stations, etc.

This is ridiculous. Flat out stupid. It's like.. "yeah, if you want a house so bad you have to forget being part of an actual FC because you have to make a fake one with just you in it! Oh, you were only paying for a limited sub and only have one character? Well that's your fault for being poor RL too then!"

The wonderful thing about the standard sub is that when you take the 6 month subscription, it's the same price as the entry subscription.

If you're too 'poor' for that, get 3 friends to help you.

Secondly, your main can be part of an actual FC. Transfer FC leadership to your alt after purchasing the FC house. You only need 1 character to remain in the FC.

FFXIV has the worst housing system of any MMORPG that I've played.

I really hope that SE introduces instanced housing alongside the existing housing with all the functionality of non-instanced housing so that everyone can get 1 personal and 1 FC house guaranteed. I hope that people keep clamouring for instanced housing.

But all that being said,we have to work with the existing system. If you really want a house, put in the effort for it.

Maybe they should just create fc housing wards for each area with only medium and large plots. That fix fc housing problems. Heard FC's tried to relocate to new plots and wouldn't let them and ones with private housing had no problem relocating to new plot that fc was trying to get but said lock to them. Like my fc we have enough gil buy 2 mansions but there long gone before ever get a chance at one to many have them for private housing.
