And then they empty out again, plenty of plots become available during content droughts, especially the big drought and the end of the expansion.

Honestly, it really wasn't the case on Hyperion, even in the Goblet. As soon as a plot became available, there'd be 10+ campers there within moments.
Houses were never really given a chance to just sit so that one could leisurely stroll through and buy them. Glad you had that experience on your server though.

I mean, Cerberus isn't a quiet server, but that is essentially exactly how it happened for me.

Strolling through Goblet one day and a plot right by the pool was just there, empty, no campers, nothing. Even the timer had run out. That was the best plot, IMHO, but it was by no means the only one.

Not that any of this is an excuse though, the housing situation is still bad, you shouldn't have to wait a couple years for a really long content drought in order to buy a videogame house. That's literally longer than it takes to get a real actual house in the real world, in a lot of places anyway.

I'm so glad you got a house I have had one for a long time, since before the purchase timers were implemented, and it's hard watching friends remain perpetually unlucky. I will always advocate for a better housing system because what we currently have, even though I have greatly benefited from it, is only good for the few.
