I guess what interested me the most was what Yoshida said about "something" that will happen to all people playing now that will be visible after 2.0 to distinguish them (visually) from people who did not.... wa? are we going to glow? scar? WHAT?

I believe Nael is doing this entirely by himself, with no approval whatsoever of the Emperor.
During the main storyline we are told about the linkpearls the empire has been dropping on the city states, explicitly asking for surrender and aid on their quest to defeat the beast tribes and the primals. This makes me believe that the Garleans are not intersteted in blowing everything up, and would rather take over Eorzea and use the power of the city states to kill the primals than just destroying them all. Why would they suddenly start considering a far more drastic approach to the problem, which is likely to cause massive garlean casualities and prevent them from gathering more people for their army?
Also, both Nael and Gaius never actually mention the usage of Meteor as an order of the emperor, even when Nael is trying to convince Gaius to help him. In fact, I would say that just the fact that he needs to gather "allies" is a pretty solid evidence saying he's doing it by himself.
What I personally think is that, at the end of 7th umbral era storyline, some connection between van Darnus and whatever "greater evil" behind the main storyline plot will be made, to tie both plotlines. I wouldn't be surprised if he was either possessed / controlled by something, or if he was part of that "antagonist group". , and I really doubt the Seventh Umbral era will be a completely side story with no ties to the main plot and will only serve to explain the map changes for 2.0.
As for the battle, I'd bet on a fight against Nael *and* Gaius at the same time, that at some point will become a fight against a powered up Nael (maybe using the runestones to power up) who will ultimately end up killed by Gaius, but not before completing Meteor. I also bet Yoshi-P himself will refer to this battle as a sort of "Final Boss Battle" for the 7th umbral era.

Cool post here Onizuka; I've supported your Great Library suggestion aswell^^
Just one question, what's the connection (if any) with those characters called Ascian? Are they somehow related to The Black Wolf and The White Raven's opperations?

If you like, I can upload a video of Alive.

Thank you, but a video of “Alive” can already be found here (I also made one for cutscenes purpose, but I didn't encode it yet).
The one missing is “Like Father, Like Son” of the Immortal Flames... I thought about opening a new Topic and ask the community to upload it, but at the same time I still hope the devs will hear my request in the Quests section, to live it in first person in Eorzea. So, fingers always crossed!
Thanks for supporting my Great Library/A library in Ishgard with balcony Topic.
About Ascians, I never heard of them again after the “Toll of the Warden” mission.
I remember reading a dev post on them, saying that they were “temporarily left behind” until the main storyline will resume (Yoshida said that the “main” storyline at the moment is the one on the Seventh Umbral Era). I found the post of good ol' Ferne of the Localization Team talking about it.
There've been no clues about a possible return of the Ascians before the calamity is unleashed, so it would be a big surprise if Nael or Gaius would mention them... We'll see.
I'm also curious about that statement of Yoshida-san about us adventurers of the 7th Umbral Era, and that we'll be recognized for living it (he said it is a huge spoiler)... I also thought about a sort of scar or mark on the forehead or chest, but what might cause it? Maybe really the Legatus Battle, or something more... mystic?
Lastly, I don't think Darnus is possesed by a greater evil, considering, when he was younger, he publicly executed his father's household guard after his death, an action appreciated by the Emperor, which makes me believe His Excellence is probably even more wicked than Nael. I wonder if one day we'll face him, too...
Ahh, but that'd be very far in the future, for now I just hope we'll have a good showdown with Darnus/Unmasked Darnus! /psych

Worry not, my friend. This one humble catgirl has "Like Father, Like Son" ready to be triggered as soon as I reach level 40 and FRAPS ready to record. I have not had the presence of mind to record the previous quests, but I will start recording from now onGrr. This is another reason why Immortal Flames stinks. NO respect for Lore. What are they going to tell the next generation?
"Oh yeah, the moon got big, we killed some stuff. They said something about it not being a moon and revealed a cool secret but... I wasn't listening... or I forgot to press 'Record' so... sorry kids."
Hooray! ...10char

I cant put my finger on it. but every time i see him i think elezen.
Though i would love to see a Roe legatus!

In case someone missed this Topic and would like to share his/her adventurer's thoughts or predictions, maintenance time is a good time to do it.
Also, as a side note, always related to lore and the Garlean Empire, today the new Harbor Herald article was a pleasure to read, not simply for the chocobo armor, but because it gave more tidbits on the history of Eorzea.
I think it was the first time the “Autumn War” was mentioned, and I couldn't imagine that 104 years ago the enemy of the city-states, thirsty of conquest, was actually one of them, Ala Mhigo; if this was ever mentioned before today, I can't remember, but before saying “They later got what they deserved by the hands of the Garlean Empire.”, I think in the following years they redeemed their ways.
Surely one day I'll still want to go to Ala Mhigo and free it from Baelsar's XIVth Legion besieging it.![]()
