Locking a boss fight is not a good system

Gonna be honest. We get content constantly in this game over and over through the roulette system so you're gonna have chances to run it all again.

So in cases like that or even the new Nier raid coming tomorrow, just watch the cutscenes for your lore, then join in the fight.

You'll probably be doing the exact same one in a roulette tomorrow during prime time or just in all honesty run it for weekly drops like the majority of us.

You do. At least, I’d wager so from seeing those who do watch the cutscenes zoning into the fight well after it’s been sealed.

If you still get sucked in while you're watching the cutscene, then I don't even understand what the point of this thread is. The OP mentioned "they had locked out 4 or 5 players," but if the cutscene doesn't stop you from getting ported in then getting locked out is impossible. OP, what are you even asking for?

I think you get sucked in after you end the cutscene—as in the pop-up appears the minute you exit it. I don’t think it throws you into the arena while you’re still viewing the cutscene.

But, I believe the gist of what they’re asking for is a way to force the rest of the alliance to wait to pull the boss, so that those who are in the cutscenes can participate in the entire fight as opposed to missing the beginning because they were watching the cutscene.

As for those who were behind, there’s no way that the developers can force the ones who got to the arena first to wait for the 4 to 5 stragglers. You could suggest that the boss arena doesn’t open until everyone goes past the applicable teleported before it...but that makes for an easy exploit for AFK players to hold an entire alliance hostage until they’re kicked. Not inherently bad—kicking the AFK players—but far too much of a wait and inconvenience to likely be a popular feature.

I'm perfectly fine with people being late due to them enjoying the cutscene.
Thankfully we have an option ingame to auto-skip scenes you've already seen, so less work is needed on everyones part to arrive for the start of the fight the second time around.

I think most people, myself included, fall into this camp.

The OP reeks of getting irritated on someone else's behalf, but I doubt many of the people watching their cutscenes actually care. Clearly, they can still enter the arena once their CS is done. The problem has already been solved (you used to actually get locked out for the entire fight, and now you don't).

The fact that the OP said "locked out" makes me think they don't fully understand how the system works.

One idea floated out there is locking the arena with the boss during short cs. That is one idea I can get behind.

Hehehe, I have seen that “second time around” be sooner than expected due to a pull before everyone is ready. In LotA people can also be teleported to the wrong atomos on an early pull.

I tend to agree that lockout should only be after you exit the arena by returning to the entrance after dying.
