    The first one is how Guild Wars 2 does it, and IMO is something sorely needed.

    GW2 actually has both of these items

    Buying partial stacks and having the option to place buy orders is fantastic. Would love to see that added to this game somehow.

    Nope. People will find the way to manipulate prices like Trade Post barons do in GW2 and the market will become the same mess it is there. No, thanks. I much prefer FFXIV's way.

    I agree with your suggestion, but you should remember that by doing so SE eventually reduce their earnings from the extra retainers players hire.

    I have to agree there. Placing buy orders would need to be implemented carefully to avoid the same results as the GW2 TP. Perhaps make the buy order visible only to the person placing it.

    Would love to see partial stack purchasing though.
