So I am confused. Are the white nights the people that want the game to do well? And trolls are the people that hate this game but play it anyway? Or did I get that backwards?
Could care less when 1.20b drops, if ever. Just hoping 1.21 stays on track

Yep, not to mention its funny how the ones who call people white knights are generally the ones that are doing the defending -- as in they continually defend their stance that SE is doing a poor job every time they do something.
Like that old saying:
"If you accuse your lover of cheating chances are it's because it's you who's doing the cheating."
I think it is safe to assume everybody who is still in this forum wants the game to do well, in their own way, or they wouldn't throw away their money on it.
The difference is some people can enjoy the game AND criticise and complain to help make the game better, and some others will defend SE no matter what they do, to the point of denying obvious facts (like most patches to date being late). If it was for the "white knight" type, we would still be running 15 man parties with random SP gains and silly fatigue systems...

A lot of people say this, and it's the same people bashing every shit they can. Like..threat meter ? level icon ? A lot of things. There's a limit on what you can criticize, and how. Goobbue mount meter it's still here, and it's the pinnacle of harrasment of this forum. Never seen so much personal attack like in that topic, at the point 2 entire moderators comed to make it stop.I think it is safe to assume everybody who is still in this forum wants the game to do well, in their own way, or they wouldn't throw away their money on it.

also nei, this "white knight here, white knight there" it's getting old and offensive. I lost count how much times you said in this topic.

Then there's people who don't know the difference between given an actual release date and a release time frame, which is why people like you say someone denies something even though anyone with a brain knows only patch 1.18 has been delayed beyond it's release time frame.I think it is safe to assume everybody who is still in this forum wants the game to do well, in their own way, or they wouldn't throw away their money on it.

By the way, no one defended the Fatigue system, if you're going to troll and create your own definition of a white knight, at least make sure it makes sense lol.

Neizero is still right for most part. Just because you nitpicked fatigue system doesnt make his point invalid. White kings on this forum will defend SE to death and deny existence of other MMO's like nazis denied holocaust. Then there's people who don't know the difference between given an actual release date and a release time frame, which is why people like you say someone denies something even though anyone with a brain knows only patch 1.18 has been delayed beyond it's release time frame.

Uh, I'm pretty sure Elexia is correct, no one defended anything -- People whether they were a fan or not knew XIV was very much unfinished or unpolished.
Pretty sure the typical forum poster should know what an example is -- which is why she used the fatigue part specifically, because above all no one defended it, so it says a lot more about the people who consider others "white knights" than those who are being accused of being such.

So true. My first serious experience with the XIV community was in a topic about Fatigue, where people were just getting berated for not "appreciating" it.
At one point I mentioned my frustrations with Fatigue on Twitter and got Tweet-stalked for it, with said person passionately defending the system for months (only to eventually say, "I never REALLY supported it, despite the months-long arguments on Twitter and message boards and random anti-Fatigue bloggers I posted responses to" once Square Enix changed their tune, hah, but I digress).

Yeah, Google is your friend. You can still find all these debates on the various blogs and boards, and there was quite a passionate defense of the system.

And, for the fun of it all:

I do so love the internet, where all your words are archived and recorded. Oh, it wasn't a gung-ho defense on Jennestia's part, I'll concede, but after claiming "no one" at all defended it, well, there's at least two partial defenses there.
inb4 excuses, just like my Twitter buddy whipped out when called on it!
