Speaking of jumping healers, I got a sprout Conjurer in a roulette party in Tam-Tara [I'm leveling an archer] and the only thing she was doing was to heal the tank (a mentor, mind you) now and then while the rest of the time she kept jumping around, even in the middle of the battle going around mobs. Seeing that no one was saying anything I asked her politely to stop doing it. She didn't. I waited for the battle with the second Void demon to finish and left.
I prefer taking a half an hour penalty than being around annoying players.

Well, I just finished Ridorana Lighthouse as GNB. Let's just I was anywhere from third highest dps to the fifth dps... OF THE WHOLE ENTIRE RAID.

Edit: The two dps that beat me also only beat me by a couple hundred. It was that bad.

I have a tank main in an FC that talks about how he gives healers something to do by not moving out of telegraphed attacks.

I also think he's a child and I wouldn't heal him if my life depended on it.

DPS was in need for normal raid roulette so I queued up as DNC and landed in E2. There was a new person bonus message.

The guy who got the first stack marker ran off by himself and died alone. One of the tanks typed ? in chat. Second stack marker dude ran off by himself and died - I’m not sure if it was the same person or not to be honest. The tank from before said “I can’t wait to get off crystal” and I replied with “Aether isn’t any better if you think you’ll find solace there”.

We cleared the boss, in one attempt, and the bitter tank said “anywhere has got to be better than here. Too many mouth breathers”

We literally just cleared the boss in one shot, and it wasn’t even a messy clear besides the stack marker guys going off alone, and this guy is insulting people in the party and the entire data center.

Who again is the mouth breather, tank?

And for my 2 cents regarding aether vs crystal, since I recently moved from aether to crystal, is that they are the same in regards to the bads and the decent you get grouped with (at least in duty finder.) one thing I have noticed, and it’s totally anecdotal, is that there are less bikini glamours. I think people care more about their image on crystal and maybe that has to do with balmung and mateus, but what do I know.

I think its due to overall Crystal has an overall clear rate of savage content that is abysmal. And I say this bc I lurk in certain places on Reddit where they make fun of Aether vs Crystal a lot. People who raid in these places sneer at Crystal and its clearing abilities. But here's the thing. Raiders were advertising that they were going to remain on Aether bc of Gilgamesh, a well-known raid server, was going to be on Aether. So it becomes the question of which came first the chicken or the egg situation. Balmung historically has been made fun of for being an rp server and that its full of bad players. Iirc, during the new raids, Balmung despite its size also had an abysmal savage raid clear rate. I think that it has more to do with that the fact until HW, you had to arrange for parties on your server. So much like Balmung being the advertised server for rp'ers Gilgamesh became the center of raiders. The barriers were broken down, but more skilled players remained on certain servers.

However, this meme that Crystal is bad Aether is good, is stupid when you stop and think about it. It's the DF and it's not savage. But people insist on that being the standard on deciding which populace has the worse df player base. Yes, we don't clear savage as much. Gee, I wonder why. Might have something to do with our populace being geared for other things. But that doesn't stop Aether from having people who do not partake in high-end content from clogging up the queues. Hell, on reddit there is a thread just like ours and I see more Aether horror stories than Crystal atm. (The most being the EU data center). But you better bet that when a horror story happens with all the checkmarks checked (cat girl, bf/gf combo, Balmung/Mateus, don't pay my sub) it becomes the focal point and it continues.

What I am saying is, it will be a LOT of work to break this stereotype if it can even be broken. And you are correct, I've played on Aether with my alt. Same bs and at the same rate.

As someone who recently transferred from Balmung to Gilgamesh and enjoying Aether DC, all I can say is... oh my sweet summer child. But everyone is different, perhaps you'll enjoy Crystal a lot more than I do. Either way, cheers mate we're like exchange students here, haha

My goodness, I'd like to extend some praise to that tank I had yesterday in Tam-Tara while I was on BRD. It was like 10-11 minutes and that was AMAZING!! Hands down the fastest Tam-Tara run ever!! Just hearing all the individual hits of Quick Nock against those big mobs you pulled really made me miss that BRD game play and rejuvenated me a little as I've been a bit jaded as of late. It was that rare magical PUG where everyone was on the same page. But just know, you put a smile on my face and it made that boring dungeon "fun". Thanks.

That sounds like my last DF run of the day yesterday. I just needed a couple more mog tomes for my round lanner, so made my own mini roulette of the tome dropping baby dungeons. First run was a Toto Rak where the only happening of note was my net dcing me right before second boss.

The true gem of the night was a lovely, lightning fast run of Tam Tara. The tank was amazing; fast mass pulls, never losing hate even when I had to toss a heal mid pull (I was on AST).

If that tank is reading this, thank you! You injected some fun back into a normally slow and boring dungeon.

For all the flak that Orbonne Monastery gets for its difficulty and all, I was in a run where there we beat each boss in only one attempt. Thanks to everyone who stayed in that run. It was a real fun and exciting one.

Phew, i finally cleared E4s, took the full 120 minute lock out to do it, but it's done.

Had several close ones before we finally killed the guy, had one enrage at 1% another at 0,8% and then yet another at 0,2% before we got him.

Also made a few mistakes on the second merry-go-round, lost track of where i was supposed to be and had to adjust by jumping into one of the free outer tiles, sacrificing some uptime to make certain my momentary disorientation would not cause deaths and cost us the run. I maintain that it was worth it.
