Like everyone else, I'll mirror Chemist as a Healer. Since the name is too close to Alchemist, it could be named Physician, Pharmacist, Apothecary, Mixologist, etc. Especially if we head to Garlemald in 6.0, I think it would both make the most sense and fit the bill better. As for the weapon they'd use, I.. am in a bit of a doozy, I can't quite think of something. Maybe a cauldron? Or a potion gun. After all, nothing really says a Healer has to be purely magical in nature...

Alternatively, we could also get the Green Mage as a Healer, using a mace as a weapon. We could get Protect back, along with Shell and Reflect since they only exist in Eureka. They'd probably need some changes to not be silly in PvE, but since Green Mage has always been about buffs and debuffs, I do think it could be a more unique healer (at least on the debuff department).

There's also the potential of a Shaman, since we do know that the Xaela of the Steppes have healers that communicate with spirits for aid. So it could be a 'darker' healer that uses spirits and occult rituals to heal and aid their allies.

As for DPS and Tanks, I'm a bit more out of ideas, honestly.

I'd say Viking as a tank, like the FFIII class, but I think that would be a bit too close to Warrior. Similarly, I'd say Rune Fencer/Mystic Knight, but that would also be a bit too close to Red Mage since they mixed the whole 'magical swordsman' status to it. I could potentially see Occultist as a Magical DPS (like the Shaman, but offensive since Necromancer is a bit of a taboo lore-wise). Time Mage is also a potential for a Magical DPS.

Maybe Buccaneer for Ranged DPS, holding a hand cannon? Or maybe some kind of Demon Hunter, with a crossbow.

I suppose there's a big potential we'll see some more FFXIV unique classes (close to how we got Astrologian) in the future, which I'd definitely love to see.

FFX-2 had alchemists that used guns to shoot out their alchemical mixtures

Without going too into it, I'd love a Sorcerer/Sorceress job, utilizing wrist ornaments as catalysts for their magic. Primarily a melee-range mobile mage, the job would accrue Sorcerous Might (resource) and be able to spend the resource to utilize mid/long range attacks or save up to unleash a big magical attack, or deplete the resource overtime to enhance the potency of their attacks.

instead of Chemist why not Medic
I like how limited job done my self I realize that they different I came realize that system for them are more complex then system dungeon/raid jobs. have I don't think that kind system can be added without some limitation.

Medic would be a good ideal it could be more Garelen job
rune fencer weild dual scimatars like I said before dodge rate building up runic power
geomancer I like see how SE would do this

Ranger I love see how this could be done I think cross bow would be awesome weapon or hand crossbow

gamble use dice to get buff and debuff an instead ideal

I think crowd control might a nice thing.

We already know the next jobs will be a HEALER and a Caster, bringing all roles to 4 jobs per role, excluding range which will have 3. Or the might surprise us with 3 new jobs making all roles 4 per role, since I think 6.0 will close FFXIV because after this crisis the only thing left is the empire. i just hope the jobs are fun in design and have weapons that are not blades, great axes, shields, sticks, and books, but weapons that are whips, hammers, measures, crossbows, and my personal favorite dual weapons

Medic showed up in FFXIII, and it was just a different name for white mage. You were casting cure's. So, i don't know what can be used there to create a unique job.

Did you mean, they would use mixing of potions like Chemist but just be called medic? I would really like for it to be called Chemist cause it more accurately reflects the theme. I would rather Alchemist job be name changed to Apothecary, wich is kind of accurate for what they do.

I don't know if they will close it after that. There are other threads to take. There's the new world, there's also other territories we haven't explored and so on. Eg. FFXI didn't end at Chains of Promathia where the main story thread went. They went to a new continent, went into the past and in the last expansion became pioneers in the new world.

I still want a garlean gun themed job as gunreaker was not at all what I wanted. I think a melee/ranged dps with a gunblade with some ranged abillities and elegant attacks for melee could be neat. A flail and gunshield could be a cool combo too but that would require creating a ton of new shields. And a garlean gunblade is probably unlikely due to gunbreaker which really sucks for me but I can always hope. If we end up getting no garlean gun themed job i'll be quite disappointed, I've always thought they have cool tech and would love to use it.

Healer: I'd like to either see the Chemist/Alchemist/Medic with a gun of some sort like everyone and their momma, OR a mace and shield wielding healer who does primarily melee dps to either enhance or give them access to their ogcd healing (with a baseline gcd nuke and heals for when fights force them to go ranged) I'm a sucker for cleric types myself, and they could also provide some value people who want to glamour all those outdated caster shields

Ranged: I've personally wanted Geomancer to be a caster dps, with their bells and emphasis on positioning (to emulate Terrain from the single player games and Cardinal Trance/Geo/Indi spells from ffxi) and using water/earth/wind nukes.

While I loved corsair in ffxi, mch and ast have their niche covered, so they could probably make it wield a pair of pistols like Merylwyb or something.

Melee:While we have more then enough, I do wish we had other jobs that use maiming and/or scouting armor. A dual wielding sword guy would probably work for that. Or the scythe. People like scythes.

Tank: we could do a rune fencer/knight or something, although I'd rather maces/hammers be used by healers, they would work fine for a rune fencer, if I wasnt expecting dual wield swords to be a dps that would be a given as well.
