Challenge the weak to make them strong.
People still cry about undercutting? Please learn to market.
Makes sense. I was like "wait, I didn't say anything offensive!" But since the posts I quoted or responded to are no longer there then...well...but at least it makes some sense now.
Didn't Blizzard have this type of system already with the old D3 Auction House before it was removed?
In Diablo you sold it to the computer and the computer sold it to the player, the price bought and sold being manipulated by said computer. So you'd approach the market, be like "I want to sell 10 gems" and it'd say okay here is 10 gold. Later someone wants to buy 10 gems and it'll determine the value (might be 13 gold), probably the value is based off demand and figurative supply (Blizzard can print whatever was demanded lol).
At least if you were talking about gems and gold, normal items like equipment behaved more as one would think an auction house would. I remember someone buying a shield from me for $20 lol. What a weird experience that was... The whole thing, Diablo 3 had a horrrrrrribbbbbleeeee launch xD. Part, among other things, that lead me to greatly lower respect for the company. Still very talented people working there, producing talented and interesting things- so don't get me wrong on that, but I don't look up to the company anymore (lost a lot of good will/faith, Bethesda doing something very similar these days lol).

@Shougun
Are you sure that wasnt just the cash side of things? I could have sworn for the gold side the price when buying/listing would just be the lowest and you wouldnt get your gold until it sold. It's been more than a few years so I could very well be wrong!
I like the current system, and I say that as a crafter who makes gil from the mb. It's a free market system and it's just fine as it is. I played FFXI with the same free market system and liked it just fine. I do miss ffxiah though.
