That's the way every face works though. Every character with the option for a beard has a uniquely-designed one built for that character model so it is, as you said, compatible with the jawline options.

The beard for Midlander face #5 (eg. as used for Ardbert in-game) isn't quite the same as the one used for the Midlander-face-#5 "generic WoL" in the trailer/benchmark. It's a custom model they've made by starting with that straight-from-the-character-creator NPC and customising it in ways that can't be accessed in the character creator*, and they seem to be unable to add new options unless they rebuild how character customisation (and everything that relies on it) works.

If they did add the trailer version, it probably would still be only for that face.

    * Customised faces that just make minor alterations to standard ones seems to be a really common way for them to make unique NPCs. All the Scions have custom faces despite seemingly being straight from the character settings (presumably to add their Archon tattoos) or you get things like Yugiri who uses face #3 with the horns from face #1.

Either way...it's still not impossible since they did confirm that they can add more options for existing character creation options/categories but not add any new categories. Au Ra with horn choices regardless of face type is different from having more facial hair options. They also considered it, too.

The "extra features" aren't the same as other categories like hairstyle or face choices where you pick one option from a list, but only ever have one option active at a time. The extra features are all toggled independently and you can turn on as many as you like, so I don't think they count as a list they can add more options to. It's more like they're five separate lists with the options "on" and "off".

Think of it like a form you could fill out where you select the items you want:

Face: [space to write a one-digit number]
Hairstyle: [space to write two-digit number]
    Beard?: yes/no
    Scar?: yes/no
    Etc: yes/no

If the form was originally designed to handle four face options and 15 hairstyles, they could still increase it to nine faces and 99 hairstyles without needing to redesign the form. But they can't add a single extra yes/no option without creating a new space for it.

They can still add it. The beard isn't compatible with the other two beard options available to them, so all three can't be applied together. If they do it this way (which is how it works right now anyway), they can totally add it in. Hell, any fuller beard option, really. No point in having the tiny mustache and goatee when you're going to apply the beard. It makes no sense.
