if the devs would listen to everyone, they would have to remove houses because I would prefere to have my neighborhood back, instead of of these single player houses which also have closed front door, also the devs are japanese so they can't read english. In threads like this I love the fact that devs dont even read this forum. Its almost 2020, our engine still dont know how to make proper jump dashes, by not moving character on the ground like a doll on rails(try to use dash ability from the cliff and you'll see what I'm talking about), game still can't blur backgrounds properly, we can't accept duty while looking at another window like with retainers. Oh, how about our 400 slot glamour dresser? When games nowadays have normal armor chest with you can use after you had item once and don't need to hold it anymore. And that's just the tip of the iceberg I have found playing this game for 5 years. And it's not going to be fixed or dealt with, so enjoy your apparents and hope that you have time and money to buy a normal house like everyone do. Or maybe your private instanced housing aka appartment is waiting for you!
Well, now I know where players will turn their focus to next if instanced housing is ever a thing. The addition of new plots is grand and all, But they will eventually run out. I'm still hoping SE will add true instanced player housing that everyone can enjoy. Perhaps something a bit different in addition to the current housing model. Like a small private island or something w/ a single housing plot on it!
This reply is extremely narcissistic.
It's a way to keep the supply right where they want it. They've always been gunning for about 30% server population in housing plots. What needs changing is the placard spamming.
Fine, destroy housing is make it apartment only from now on.The addition of new plots is grand and all, But they will eventually run out. I'm still hoping SE will add true instanced player housing that everyone can enjoy. Perhaps something a bit different in addition to the current housing model. Give it something unique (maybe even animal crossing style functionality). I miss the "FFXI mog house/Mog Island" idea. It was great and you could still invite folks to your house but it was instanced, cozy, and best of all EVERYONE could access one. Not just the lucky few (which will once again ultimately happen when these plots all run out).
Please SE, consider something instanced IN ADDITION to the current housing model. (Apartments/Inn Rooms don't cut it! It needs outdoor decorating/gardening/Chocobo Stables too!)

English is a requirement in the Japanese education system.
I see people saying the neighborhoods aren't useful but I don't agree. I've made friends with several of my neighbors, both in Mist and after we moved to Shirogane. I'd like to keep that as is. I wish everyone could have a house if they could afford one, but FFXIV is almost 10 years old now. It's unlikely they will throw a lot of money at the game to add enough housing for everyone at this point. Look at it from the dev's side. They did add the apartment system to make it a bit better but all they got was complaints and "it's not good enough". Why not be thankful for what we have?
This will make my gil grow 10x with near 0 effort again.
You dont get the point. Devs wont change anything, they have many problems on higher level of MMO design, but as Yoshi said himself, he'd rather create new game from zero, than try to polish this one. So we will get major tweaks at best and just new content with same formula as before. Increased items capacity in houses would be big holiday, but that's it, so you don't need to fear that you lose your neighbors, as long as you pay monthly sub without breaks.
