Yea I believe so also. I just hope they don't make the starting cities feel like ghost towns. There should be some reason to go back.

Also, they need to link the MW wards. I like them better than an AH but they need improvement. Just have some npc that makes a list pop up. Then you can instantly buy it from any other cities retainers. Hell they can even add a slight fee from not directly buying the item from a retainer.

I looove global market systems personally. It is kind of unrealistic to see it hitting XIV though.

That being said, as soon as we score an item mail/delivery system, the Jeuno/Whitegate syndrome will become a moot point to me!

    "/l anyone in Uldah?"
    "yeah brah, whatcha need?"
"/l just to hear your voice, and can you send me some shihei, I mean, some buffalo.. straps, black"
    "np brah"

Everyone knows Jeuno was a superior city. Whitegate smelled like piss and corn chips.

Well. Just on a timeline basis your theory is wrong.

FFXI origin - Jeuno was the highest traffic city

2 expansions later - Whitegate became the center of traffic.

FFXIV (still in origins)... do I need to go further?

last I played WG lost a lot of people by the last Aby. Jueno(port) became the center of attention.

I'm hoping some of that large scale PvE will be something like the fights in WG(forgot what they were called). More in detailed fights though. They could even give crafters something to do since they are "classes."

There are already arguments against teleporting promoting laziness. You could technically 'teleport' to the city and run to their ward. I agree to a search feature for all cities as an option, but not a 'buy from search menu' (at least as it pertains to other regions market wards)

In ffxi, the auctions were broken up by regions. If you were out in Kazham, you were linked to the Windy auction, but you couldn't buy from jeuno sandy or bastok. I thought it was much more fair. It gave reason to go to certain cities because things were priced different in different regions, and different materials were available according to their home regions as well.

It is completely understandable and fine for one city to be "the" gathering place. But surely there must be something between "central hub" and "near ghost town", don't you think?

I guess I just don't understand why so many people seem simply not care that La Noscea and The Black Shroud are consistently deserted in many areas. Maybe it has to do with what people are playing -- when it comes to crafting, gathering, or lower battle ranks, I don't really care either 'cause you don't have to worry about finding other people to play with, and for the most part you can just solo.

I agree that somehow connecting the market wards would help, at least letting people see what is for sale. Though the ability to summon retainers that are currently selling was a step in the right direction. For example, if I dump stuff to sell on my retainer while I'm in Limsa, I now can leave him in the market wards to sell knowing that I can still put him in Ul'dah's wards the next time I am there.

Battlecraft leves also need to be more balanced between cities for some ranks/camps -- Broken Water being in Thanalan isn't the only reason that everyone does R40's there! ^_~ (though I know, a lot of people just hate the Black Shroud, but that is another can of worms lol)

Unlike Uldah Jeuno is no starting city, you see no fresh registered noobs around there and taking your Lv1 mules to Jeuno was fun too.
