Hard to do that when the "optimal" method of play emphasizes using third party programs and you play on a console. ^^;

For the opener, you're somewhat right. But not for general rotation, no, you are not required to have a third party program. Even without the program, using Anatman to just get 1 tick in the opener is still better than not using it.
