I love Lalafell and I've tried other races in the past but I always come back to Lalafell. For those that bully you just cos of a race you play in a computer game, they must have a really sad life if that's all they do. I would block them (if in-game) report and move on. I don't care what other people think of my choices, they're my choices and they don't hurt anyone, if they don't like, then look the other way. Don't let others discourage you from playing Lalafell, though I've never experienced what you have, you should enjoy your character and game. When I play my Lalafell, (I have both male (main) and female (alt)) it's my happy place and no one's ever going to take that away from me!
PS: Just wanted to add, the person who said that they've had to kick women from his FC and discord, well I think women can be the worse bullies in my opinion, but that's only going from past experience.
P.P.S I'm a 44 year old female, so don't let you're age worry you about playing Lala, I am young at heart, and I'm also quite short in RL so I always tend to go for short characters! My Lala is also the shortest a Lala can be :P
Maybe don't let online bullying affect your online gaming experience ...
If lalas had proper beards, I'd play as one.
I don’t not hang around town much, usually just popping in to visit Maelstrom Command, but so far I’ve had zero people reference or mention race or head pat.

For those who said I need a thicker skin: you're right maybe I do. But I was a hardcore raider on FFXIV from ARR launch up until I took a break. So... about five years straight. My healer partner and I were in the 90~ percentile for quite a few raid bosses. I changed my characters name though, but anyone from my old raid group can vouch for me. Maybe some hardcore raid groups are filled with nice, calm people but mine sure wasn't. You'd get yelled at and belittled for every mistake or not meeting a certain threshold in DPS (and that included the healers) during a pull. Everyone and their mother in the guild was snobby/elitist. I needed a thick skin in order to survive and thrive in that environment. But being bullied so much over race and being accused of being a pervert for... dressing a potato up in cute outfits just made me insanely uncomfortable. This thread made me feel better though and I'm not going to change my race unless/until I actually want to.

I get people pet my head. punt me, make lalafell stew out of me, all sorts of other custom emotes i really don't remember. it generally goes in one ear and out the other.
i don't see it as any different to telling a loldragoon he's the best floor tank i've ever seen... or any number of other such comments..

Just play whichever race you want to play. Who cares what people on the Internet say?
Sage | Astrologian | Dancer
마지막 날 널 찾아가면
마지막 밤 기억하길
Hyomin Park#0055
I'll kick their ass.

Play what you want. I may play one of the more popular race/gender choices, but that's because I like how my character looks and sounds. At the end of the day, bullies will be bullies. And while I will toy around with my FC leader and lalafell friends calling them food and such, we all know it's meant playfully. I've had some pretty strange comments about my Au Ra too.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
