My guess is we'll get currency when progress hits a certain point and it'll be scaled based on how much you contribute.

They said that the hairstyle and the gorilla are both gonna be earned through this so my guess is it'll be fair for each world and allow them to work together. Granted I'm assuming it's everyone putting their A-game into the rebuilding to make a lot of progress on it.
