I was actually wondering if we were going to wipe because people weren’t killing the E.D.D. add, but it died right before it was about to explode. I almost wanted to wipe so we could kick the NIN. I really don’t like players that AFK the entire time and expect players to do the work for them. The guy wasn’t new and was level 70+ (he was wearing the SB AF as a glamour), so there’s literally no excuse. I don’t normally kick players but I can’t tolerate leeching.

Me neither. Everyone should attempt to pull their weight. That means being well equipped and possessing some potions.

I don't obsess over their exact performance as long as they want to succeed. The journey is more important than the speed you burn thru it.

They also should be a lalafell, miqo'te, or veira. .((joking))

Your'e not the only one who has problems with these kind of mechanics. Titania's Frost Runes I finally managed (if I'm not completly ignoring them) by slightly tilting the camera to see where the 2nd circle drops. But Tsukuyomi's Fans are still my bane to this day.

Weird, as the mechanic isn't that hard but my brain has problems processing that in time.

I got an E2N run today that basically sums up what I think of Duty finder parties.

The tank was spamming macros just to get people to be able to do mechanics correctly, despite that, someone overlapped a puddle marker onto the stack marker and killed 5 or 6 people, the only healer left alive only healed themselves, a couple people decided to just ignore the stack markers which caused issues with puddle + stack and the samurai decided the best way to deal with the stack marker would be to just run away with it and take the 300k hit and die, and after the samurai set the precedent the party just saw the stack marker as the run away marker.

Also, nobody (Well except myself) was pulling dps above 6k.

As much as I try to not be too elitist, there's only so much idiocy you can tolerate within the span of a single raid.

What do you expect from normal raids? Most people doing those raids don't even have most of their skills on hotbars, they don't know how to zoom the camera out to even see more of the battle arena, these are people who spam a 1-2-3 combo over and over while only reacting to what they can see in their immediate vicinity and why should they bother to learn any mechanics when they can just get carried for the story then never touch it again? They don't want to learn to play the game, they don't care about performing well when they do, and every other duty the game has ever asked them to queue for has been easy enough that they can be carried by better players so they never learned to expect anything else.

These are people who get nervous about queuing for regular dungeons..

I might have cured five times as most that whole dungeon. The rest of the time was me DPSing or getting oils and turning valves so I wouldn't be waiting on slow moving people.

I didn't join this group fresh, by the way. I replaced a healer and the time elapsed at 6 mins. They didn't make it to the first boss before I joined...
At this point i just take the penalty and leave if I get a single-pulling tank. Happened earlier when I was getting tomestones, just not worth the annoyance. Left, came back 30m later, just got the rest of the tomes on my Paladin. At least that way I can make sure we're double pulling and just AoE them down myself if I have to due to bad DPS players.

You left a dungeon part way through because the tank was slow pulling? Sat out a 30 minute ban then re entered a new 20 minute? Dungeon just to do large pulls?

You’d have been quicker with the first dungeon run and sticking with it. This is an instance of slow and steady wins the race I feel.

Ran Trial as MNK a few days ago and hit on The Chrysalis. Probably one or two of new DPS is new (with gear kind of acceptable HP wise, not the sync down version so probably a bit less than Ironworks). First round kind of wiped at 2nd Nabriales ball spam.

Before second round, some people asked about ball stuff and some older players (include me) inform about alternate balls. I also put in one of the important things for that fight: Save LB for time stop tear LB. (which isn't almost necessary but my previous runs, most of all other players go stack under falling rocks while only me or 1 or 2 others DPS the tear) Then we have a very unlucky streak of wipe at ball due to green and red balls spawn location, player location, and poor grasp of positioning (one of the wipe, 2 players on one side, another 6 on another side).

During every tries, some issues also cropped up, such as one DPS standing in the middle without doing anything (without DC icon), and only move when people start asking. And people dying to Nabriales teleport beam attack, several times.

Final try, most people are growing impatient but steeled themselves for final run, and after second ball, 4 or 5 are still standing for time stop. Knowing people will ignore the tear even if informed, I ran beside the first rock fall.

Then... Everyone is suddenly full health. The horror when I realized healer is using LB to res everyone. And sure enough, no one is DPSing that tear.

Meteor came, next round, vote abandon passed.

Yeah its really annoying. If I go out my way to collect the chests you just left behind then dont tell me when to use those items..I am fine if you use them (and I love it when others in my party pop the primals) but dont be mean and call people dummy because they dont use it exactly as you would use it..I mean I could understand it if I used them while we had other one-hit items, but if we dont and nothing else is going on (or we nearly there at activating the exit) then its never a waste.

After that run I watched the floors a bit more and had runs where we never ever had a negative effect on the higher floors..so another bad reason to keep them to use them there since you wont ever know if you get one or not.

In the end the average run takes around 12 minutes for me, with 15 being the longest and 10 being the shortest. In that short amount of time it really should be no problem to use items as we want to on any room..it will always take away some of the time needed so its never imo a waste.

I don't know why but it seems most people just cannot wrap their pug brains around Chrysalis. Nearly every time I get that trial it involves multiple wipes due to people just not being able to do simple mechanics, even after they're explained. And once I had a similar thing happen where someone melee LB'd Nabriales just before we got sucked into the Tear room....
