That chat log cracked me up, crying right now. Not sure how you were able to put up with it as long as you did but thank you for doing so since while unfortunate it was still funny. Overall still does suck they wasted your time, does seem like they were having fun at your expense, and worthy of a report. Also as someone mentioned it is not uncommon for friends to queue together to troll / mess around with the random player. I am guilty of doing so with my friends, never to the extent of turning a run into a 70 min slog though.

I did a little bit of snooping and looked on the site that shall not be named. The log of that specific fight was uploaded there (truly easy to find because what run goes on over an hour).
I don't wanna talk about it any further on the forums but I saw what confirmed my suspicion that they were trolling: they all are from the same FC and some further data from other logs that probably is best not adressed on the forums. Good on you for reporting it because just draining and hour+ to troll is beyond rude.

I can only recommend for next time to eat that leaving penalty proudly!


Also gotta shame myself. After starting up the bard again to level it I must've forgotten to put Raging Strikes on my hotbard and went the last few roulettes without it. For some reason i simply thought they got rid of the skill.... Caught onto it when i saw a fellow bard in a trials roulette and promply put it on my bar after that.

It's a shame you're on Primal :/. I was about to say if you still needed to cap your tomes, I'd gladly tank any of the Expert Dungeons for you. But unfortunately I'm on Aether.

Well, it's been a while since I posted a story on this thread.

A fc friend of mine was leveling his drg, and I thought it would be prudent for me to bring my healer and drag his drg's level up to 50. It had been some time since I dusted off my healers (I've been leveling dps jobs on 4 of my characters so far so I can get a better understanding of how they work, etc).

So I party and queue us up for darkhold since his drg was 45. We load in and get a gnb tank that seems a bit hesitant to mass pull, which is ok since not everyone knows you can do the shenanigans pull and get away with it. We kill the first boss and move onto the next area. Mind you, I'm on whm, and the second area has explosive crystals. This is important.

The gnb suddenly grows a set and pulls the first and second set of mobs, however the toad mob is still alive and uses his aoe. This causes the other dps to get yeeted off the cliffside, and the tank proceeds to gather all those mobs up to the crystal sitting at the intersection and into a side hallway. I see them pop their cooldowns, I cast cure II and regen, and start casting a few Holy. Suddenly their hp is tanking because more mobs came into the mix, and I find myself slamming my Benediction hotkey...

Only to get the message 'Ability not learned yet.' Oh...

The amount of cure II spam was not enough to save our lalafell gnb. He went splat, followed by my friend. I get them back up and we finish cleaning up the mess. I apologized for not remembering I don't have Bene at this level, and we finished the dungeon. A few more runs later and my friend is sitting at 48, so I drag him into Aurum Vale. We get a drk and a rdm who weren't too happy to get AV, but the rdm was new to their job, as it became quite evident later. I had decided to swap to astro because I needed to practice it more than just being a braindead cardpopper.

Our tank seemed a bit hesitant to pull more than a few mobs at a time, but he would also try to pull the wandering mobs when they weren't that close to us. I heal us through it, we get through the first boss and past the first morbol room. Room before the coincounter our tank suddenly grows a pair and pulls the whole damn room. I'm trying to keep them alive, pop cards on our dps and keep myself alive, but it wasn't enough as our rdm didn't seem understand that getting dualcast for aoe'ing was priority. Dat hardcasting.

I get the tank and my friend back up (loldrg floortank memes) and we go into the second boss' room. My friend speaks up about this boss not having aoe markers, and the tank points out to watch the boss' attacks. The rdm was stuck hardcasting verthunder when he got pimpslapped with 100-tonze swing and promptly died. I get him back up and we trudge on through the rest of the dungeon. Friend got his 49 at that run, and we requeued back up again for him to get to 50. I swear, I get tanks that seem to think the same thing or know what happened on the previous run. Another drk tank that decided 'oh hey, I'm gonna masspull now.' on the room before the second boss. He nearly died and I nearly died because Unleash didn't seem to be much a priority in that room. However on the second boss, I witnessed a miracle.

The second tank stood in the middle of 100-tonze Swing and it missed. It threw me off-guard that I forgot to heal the other dps that barely survived it for a couple seconds.

We down the second boss, get through to the final boss, and finish the dungeon. Friend hits 50 drg, and I make a comment about getting the rest of his dps classes leveled. He was like 'well, we'll probably die, but okay.'

Was a fun and productive couple of hours. To that one lala gnb tank, I'm still so sorry that I forgot I didn't have Bene at that level DX

To anyone that gets me in Ghimlyt Dark:

No matter what class I'm playing, I'm going to die to Crosshatch. For some reason, the worthless piece of grey matter residing inside my skull just can't do it.

I'm sorry - the lines are BARELY visible to me when they start going off and even though I do a top-down view, I can't seem to ever find the safe-spot. I hate this mechanic so much because I feel so stupid not being able to do it. Rather, I -could- do it, if I could see the lines better (also, I'm sorry, I will NEVER be good at memorizing things that disappear seconds later - I've never been good at it and that's not changing - that's why I always breath a sigh of relief when someone else does the Diabolos door mechanic, because I can do it the first time, but not the second when OH GOD SO MANY LIGHTS AND EXPLOSIONS AND PURPLE AND RED EVERYWHERE WE'RE MOVING MY CAMERA KEEPS SHIFTING AROUND TO FOLLOW AAAA and the doors are blank now and I have no clue which is which so I guess we're eating this one boys!).

Leveling my BLM and I have a newfound contempt for people chilling in my leylines.
I really don't need people baiting aoes into them escpecially after I took great care to place them strategically so it's highly unlikely I have to move too much, if at all. Bonus points of the person in question is the tank and decides to take a stroll with the boss which constantly cleaves right into my leylines which have no effect whatsoever on them.
That's MY spot, get the hell out of there.

Usually I just complain in this topic, so here's a happier message: I just had a really great run of Malikah's Well with what seemed to be a pre-made party of three Brynhildr players.

Everything, bosses included, died so fast that I was actually thrown off by how quickly everything proceeded.

The ACT parser a lot of player are using for their DPS comes with a free plug-in that's able to TELL people which content they will get beforehand. so they don't actually have to accept it if they don't like it. That's why they don't even have to reduce the ilevel. They can just use their parser and if it shows, let's say "Dun Scaith" they can just pull back. Thats probably also the reason why there are so many players pulling back in the first place, when the invite is popping up, trying their luck later again with the hope of getting something else. That's also mainly used on the MSQ so people can actually decide if they want the shorter one or the longer one with more xp.

For people using the ACT parser queuing into random roulettes is not as random as it seems or you may have thought.

I've been starting to suspect such a thing existed, due to seeing a party I was in fail to assemble 5 times in a row, and then it was THAT one fight of alexander...

Dang cheaters with their 3rd party tools. I also suspected something like this when I keep seeing withdrawns from when I queue for something I needed.

Can't really do anything about it though, ACT has been staple part of raiding for years now so unless we get dps meters in-game they won't do anything about it.
