The point is, that we get all the important information we need during the LL in English on the slides.

This is rarely if ever the case.

We get bullet points that regularly have almost no information other than "thing x is named x, or 'y thing is a thing' " and we have to parse through the explanation about exactly what that means.

Like, there is no way this small indi dev company could organize something so their non JP people that they invite to their LLs are not left out. No. Way.

It's amazing that people complaining about not having live interpreting keep coming back to this tired, ridiculously false statement. Literally no one in this thread has said anything like this. No one has defended SE like this in the slightest.

It's not about money. The reason they don't have a live interpreter on every LL has nothing to do with lack of money. They most certainly have the budget for it (or more importantly, they have salaried staff that COULD do it). But as has been explained several times over in this thread, it's not logistically reasonable.

At the very least, it would double the length of the LL, which simply isn't acceptable. Furthermore, live interpreters are pulled from the localization staff, which have workloads of their own. Any time spent interpreting for a LL is time taken away from them being able to attend to their workload (which is extremely heavy, btw). They could hire someone specifically for interpreting LLs, but that would be a huge waste of resources that could be spent elsewhere.

They eventually provide translations of the LLs, so it's not like they completely ignore English speakers. And the reason they don't provide them live is because the LLs are un-scripted (again, this has been explained). They usually release the translations within a week or so of the LL, but sometimes it's longer. But how long it is is moot, since nothing in the official translations contains anything of actual import. All pertinent, important information is displayed on the slides (contrary to what the above poster claims).

And you're proving my point by providing more excuses for SE? Tbh, I don't really care why they aren't doing it or how it is/isn't possible, people provide feedback to SE in this forum, how or if they make it happen is up to them.

If you're not willing to listen to the valid explanations for why live interpretation is not done and are simply going to plug your ears and keep demanding, then you have no business in a discussion forum. Send your complaint directly to SE.

The live letter has since been translated into english and all the info is out there and has been for the past week.

Then provide translation. This live letter was an atrocity for a lot of people, and while they provided a little bit of english on the screen, we missed a lot.

This was really just... silly and disappointing.

Nothing is stopping you from learning Japanese. I mean Rosetta stone is cheap as rice these days.
