"The game needs to have a little something for everyone..."Regardless of how many people wanted this I don't think it's any less important than other features. I stated my opinion on the feature itself earlier in this thread, and that hasn't changed. But it is meeting a demand, however large or small. This game needs to have a little something for everyone, and this just adds to it.
"Regardless of how many people wanted this..."
Uh... hmm.
Regardless this is smelling more and more like Lords of Verminion.

I will say something: the ability to replay the whole story was always there. All anyone needed to do is to create a new character. Just because of that I don't understand the point of new game+

Do you realize that not all servers are OPEN to creating new characters? And people don't want to jump to a new server and play void of their friends and ability to talk to them? So no. No it is NOT easy to just 'to create a new character' on a whim to play the story again.
Y'all are trying to justify how this is not a needed feature when the devs obviously decided it was. And there are a lot of people in this thread that disagree. And, as I have pointed out, forums are just a very little snippet of the overall game's population... not to mention this is only the EN side of the forums. Ultimate only appeals to a small section that are able to tackle it. Is it therefor pointless? Should they 'waste resources' on it?
Let. People. Enjoy. Things.
Even if those things don't include what YOU want them to.

At any point in this topic I stated that SE should add or not NG+. However, I'm free to give my opinion. If you can't handle people not agreeing with you is your problem, not mine.Do you realize that not all servers are OPEN to creating new characters? This is adding chapter options though, and you don't have to re-level your character. No detours for your obligatory job quests to unlock skills, no getting gated by quest level requirements, and you can pick and choose which parts of the game you replay. Personally I'll take that over getting rewards but you can only restart the game from the beginning and play through it sequentially.

You're misinterpreting what I said. Leveling through quests isn't exploitative. Being able to restart all those quests and skip every cut scene to rapidly level with zero effort is, especially when you can simply restart at any moment. You could only do the level 70 ShB quests and restart NG+ afterwards. That offers nearly 11M EXP for doing almost nothing. Here's how to stop the exploit- if you have a new job, i.e. a job that has NOT done the MSQ, it could gain exp in NG+. It would be another way to level up jobs without having to grind fates, do beast tibes, do dungeons, etc... Some people like to level up when you're questing. It's not an exploit- it's leveling while questing. "But you'll reach level 80 by doing quests" yeah, that's... the whole point. Nearly everyone who plays this game wants to reach level 80.
When did questing become exploitative? In every single MMO I've played, when you start a new class, you can restart all of the quests. This game has one character doing all classes which means that all quests can only be used on one class
Now before you or anyone suggests making the cut scenes unskippable to prevent. No. That makes the feature obnoxious because not everyone reads at the same speed. What it boils down to is you're arbitrarily making a feature unless enjoyable for its intended audience purely so you can have yet another level alternative when the game has several.
Except no one asked for Lord of Verminion nor did anyone even want it. Now if they designed it to play like Pokemon, it could very easily have been quite popular. Instead, we got the mess of a RTS system they came up with. Regardless, you're making one hell of a reach here comparing the two.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Personally I wont use it, I find its a terrible waste of ressources that should have been put into projects, that really would improve the game, like reworking all ARR maps to bigger full 3D maps, able to fly in them, with added new content to revitalize ARR maps, that turn more n more into ghost maps of nobody doing fates, especially not fate bosses
Fates should get contstantly replaced in a certain time cycle, to keep the maps fresh n interesting to revisit them.
The feature is misleading, what we get is no NG+, but in fact just a chapter based Replay/Chronicles Mode, that spares us to create extra new character n start as Lvl 1, when its just comfortable to get level n gear synced all the way with your endgame equipment, never having to woory about being ever undergeared.
But I dont thunk, that this game really neccessarily needs for ability to replay old cont an extra game mechanic, when you get the same experiencd again with making a new character, thats why I think this Pseudo NG+ will be completely pointless and obsolete, alot of time, money n manpower wasted for a feature that maybe less than 5% of the community will ever use, if there is absolutely no incentivation to the player to do so, just reliving the story again is NONE, people were able to do that for years with new characters already, just only not with the convienient ability to choose directly, which part of the game by chapter they want to replay, with new character it meant just, you get the full deal, or nothing.
NG +, uhm sorry - Replay Mode can be taken by me only serious, if it would provide something, that is more than just being able to replay old content.
It should offer:
- Exp again from Quests n MSLonly as reward, with like 100% Bonus, therefore no Gil, no Items, no Gear Stuff, just only increased exp, fore those who want to level alts faster.
- A title maybe for having replayed once completely a certain part of the game, ARR, HW, SB, SH, and for having replayed once the whole game to current plot end, lets say Storyteller/Historian/Hero Titles based on those story segments being replayed at least once.
- Special earnable Glamours of Weapons n Gear for having replayed fully either ARR (Gaius Weapon/Armor), HW (Estinien's Bloodred Dragoon Gearset), SB (Lyses CG trailer Weapon/Dress) or SH ( Y'shtola's Blackmage Staff/Dress with Hood) from the SH CG of the expansion's trailer CG.
- Some unique TT Cards, Pets n Mounts to receive as one time rewards for replaying completely the game for the first time, like for example a Phoenix Card for ARR, an alternate Estinien Card that shows him in his Past HW Gear for HW, a Papalymo Card for SB that shows him in his last moments, and an Emet Selch/ Hades Card for SH ect, just makibg examples for cards only now here.
I only play the game for the story. If there wasn't a story, I wouldn't touch this game with a ten-foot pole. For me, New Game Plus allows me to replay the story and not have to start over from scratch. I don't want to make a new character where I have to unlock everything again and go through the pain of leveling from 1. I just want the story, that's it.
"The worst foe lies within the self."
Maybe because I don't want to go through the nightmare of leveling again? Unlocking everything again? I just want to enjoy the story and that's it.
"The worst foe lies within the self."

*laughs in 'if it doesn't give me goodies then I don't think it is worth it'*
Lawd... You don't even KNOW if it is just 5% of the audience. You're PURELY shooting from the hip in order to put it down. To belittle it in the best way you can. You don't know the metrics AT ALL. You're not sitting over in Japan with the developers, you don't know what they see. How in the WORLD would you know the numbers? You don't. You're guessing and you're doing it badly.
Look, if the feature isn't giving you what you want, that's FINE. It isn't for you. But that doesn't mean it isn't worthwhile for the rest of us. The whole point of this feature was to allow people to replay the story on their main characters... for the story. It's a sad fact that they had to lure people back into doing the MSQ roulette to help new players with huge bonuses and then punish them when they were skipping ahead and refusing to let those new players watch the story by forcing the cut scenes with the 'no skip' thing. NOT putting all the goodies into this feature is very intended I would think... and if you want to know why? Look at what happened with the MSQ Roulette. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ People would rush in and get their toys and then never touch it again, wouldn't they? That's not the intended purpose of this entire thing. And that's ok.
