What you consider useless someone else may not, plus as has been said before it doesn't really work like that.
The games budget has been set already, voice work was no doubt taken into account at that time.
You're still paying for your "second" character just to keep your post count up? Jesus.
I know, it was mostly a figure of speech. I'm fine if it's main quest cutscenes (if there's on thing SE is still really good at is making cutscenes), I just agree with OP when stuff like Moogle and Ifrit fight intros are completely skipped over, that would be a waste of resources regardless.
You do know it doesn't show characters made on an account after you had to choose one initially, right? It's displaying the character I originally intended to use but mysidia didn't seem that active in my play time so the one I created on Besaid isn't even showing up.You're still paying for your "second" character just to keep your post count up? They did state it will be for the main scenario, but like with everything else in FFXIV, it seems they rushed through it and didn't really do as much as they could with voice overs.
I think most people watches those intros the first time right ?
This does seem to be a problem, its probably why most people skip this stuff in MMO's and then you end up falling into a pattern. In FFXI I was always rushed (as were others) to get through the CS to get onto the content at hand.
As well if I recall some games purposefully tell you how to do a certain thing/kill the boss right in their cutscene/monologue and people skip it then complain they can't figure out what to do or it's "bad design" that you have to "play around till you figure it out" lol.
