Because that's what the focus of an MMO should be :P And don't get me wrong, I'm cool with gays, bis and whatever, and I find straight people abusing the game as a dating sim just as cringy :P

Stayed away from this thread for awhile trying to get over my feelings about how things went down. Didn't work. That being said, i don't get why Viera can't use existing hair atm. For all the claims they look just like Hyur/Elezen with bunny ears, should they not be able to have hair styles already in game?

possibly more so a time thing and to some a "they dont want to" thingStayed away from this thread for awhile trying to get over my feelings about how things went down. Didn't work. like there is alot of hairs that can work for both hrothgar and Viera
but there is some that most likely cant
and probably would occur some situation like this
or just ears clipping through the hair
I would say the "joy" emote is pretty expressive moreso than the happy. I literally had to go through every emote available to find the ones which work the best.Well that was a hell of a read from page 982 XD
When Hrothgar was announced there was plenty of vitriol thrown at male Hrothgar, the devs, male Viera supporters(yea people tend to try an overlook that a lot of people at the time of announcement were being very spiteful to these people too saying stuff like glad they didn't decide to cater to the *insert nasty words here*) so no side was immune to the toxicity being flung everywhere at that time.
Nowadays though the community at least on OF has mostly(few outliers) calmed down and are a lot more rational about the races citing genuine problems with the current implementation and giving reasonable opinions on things, the people who come in here purposely to stir the pot are the aggressors now and it is better that way since it is a lot easier to refute them because they tend to use strawman arguments of ERP :P
Still hoping for the bunny men so the gay Vil i befriended can come out of hiding and help him find that man he was interested in.
Also little more on topic if male Viera were to become a thing i would want a lot of their emotes to be close to female Viera being refined/subdued but i would love for their /happy to be a little over the top showing a small bit of playfulness is underneath

-Because housing in FFXIV exists and there wasn't enough plots to satisfy the growing playbase and those that want and could afford housing.--Why is housing a real issue but gender locks seemingly not?
--And honestly how are we nagging them? Most of the discussion in this thread is about the viera themselves. And if asking about this in the liveletters that are happening every months is nagging well then anything can count as that.
--The last point was also not 100% only towards you. There have been people complaining that this thread still exists and that people talk in circles in it. And thus my answer: Who cares if they do? Nobody is forced to read it and if enough are there to still talk (in circles) then that should be fine.
--No it does not effect your gameplay, it does it for others. Race is important otherwise we all could just have one race and be done with it. .
Male Viera don't exist in game, at least yet.
-When a Live letter is happening and the whole chat is Spamming "Male Viera".
When other announcements are going on and people keep saying "Male Viera".
When the Dev team already said "They can't make promises, but its not off the table" and people still say "Male Viera".
When people try to delicately ask questions that still basically lead to "Male Viera".
All of that is nagging. Especially because they already made a statement about Male Viera, but people are still asking for more answers about them.
-Once again, why is this a talking point? Just ignore them and talk on. Nobody can stop anybody from talking here. Doesn't matter if its productive or talking circles. Discussion is discussion. Have it, and be happy.
If people don't actually care, they wont post or read.
-Probably a bad Comparison, but Ill make it anyway...
Ever play Guitar Hero and/or Rockband? The character you pick/Make, and the Guitar you choose/decorate is a Cosmetic similar to making an Avatar in an MMO (Lets say Western just for the sake of Argument) Its nice, its pretty, you like looking at it. But it has Zero effect on the game. You won't preform better, you don't get stat boosts, you dont get powerups, noting you put on that avatar gives you an advantage or a disadvantage.
So no, it doesn't effect gameplay.
Being able to put Pigtails on Axel or putting Poi flares on your guitar will not effect the game nor your performance.
I don't remember the games off the top of my head, but there are MMOs where your chosen Race and Gender actually effect the game. The world actually changes around you, and you are locked and barred or gained access to certain content depending on your created Avatar. Some Classes are locked behind Races and Genders. THAT is something that ACTUALLY effect the game.
FFXIV, it doesn't.

I'm glad they press it, in the same way I'm glad people press other things they care about. It lets them know that people still care.

Since I rarely get a chance to watch announcements live I just want to say thank you to whoever is in those chats reminding them about male Viera and female Viera's hairstyles.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease. :v
