Over the past week or so, I've been doing my roulettes with my brother. We are leveling a white mage(me) and paladin(him) and every time we do a trial or MSQ, we get tanks that have comically low hp. I don't understand how it can be so bad. Had a tank yesterday in MSQ with 3.5k hp. How is that even possible?

I'm not a healer main in this game, though I have been in other games... I'm not offended by a tank using their toolkit to survive. Do some of them pull that tool out a little early? Sure, that's inarguable. But I wouldn't take that as a slight against me, just them being overly cautious.

Many of the tanks that I get that use clem tend to use it when a regen will work just fine. Like I'm fine with self heals if they really need it, but not when they're at barely a scratch levels of health or when it should be obvious that the healer has them and hasn't let them drop to whelp they're dead levels of needing a heal. Course they're also the ones who do it at 90% to activate devine veil. It just makes me go why? For me it's the equivalent of the healers who do nothing but heal spam me even if i just only lost a very small sliver of my hp.

Ran a roulette the other day and ended up healing Qarn. The PLD immediately takes off and tries to sneak past the first pack, rather than actually pull them. BLM butt pulls them trying to do the same. PLD dies to the next pack while I'm trying to keep the BLM alive. RDM dies before the PLD can take aggro. On the first pull. Couldn't hold aggro to the DPS for the rest of the dungeon, then put the wrong stones on the scale at the end. One of these days I'm gonna lose it and pick tanking back up.

During MSQ roulette last night I spent more time healing the second healer than anything else. They spent more time on DPS, which left me healing the tanks and them than being able to assist with DPS myself. Always fun times in MSQ roulette, you truly don't know what you're gonna get during that experience XD.

No one takes enough damage for most of either MSQ dungeons that you should have to heal them. Ever. The only time you should really ever have to heal is during the big pull people do after the second boss of Castrum Meridianum, if no Defensives are used, and the group before Livia sas Junius in the same dungeon. Unless they were severely undergeared.

Well, this chick was literally falling to below half to 1/3 of her HP bar in almost every fight, and was the only one I noticed this happening to. Didn't examine them, probably should have to see what they were wearing.

The only thing I can think of is 1) tanks weren't doing their job and the healer ended up with a lot of mob aggro (I've had this happen many times myself, not only as healer), or 2) they just like to stand in AoE puddles :3

I am thinking AoE puddles is probably the winner here.

did the weekly thing with my friend on Eden, we both healer.
well when we were in E3... and the middle part of the stage was about to go, we both notice that the OT was still in the middle. Both of us got the idea of "I CAN HELP WITH RESCUE!" so we used it literally at the same time.
mind you, she was on the right side and me on the left side... that OT didn't made anywhere... we unintentionally successfully murdered them... I'm so so sorry!!!! SO SO SORRY!!
at least they acknowledge that "there was an attempt" ;v;

Single-button healers, man. Single. Button. Healers.

Got into a run of Wanderer's Palace on my PLD as my 50/60/70 Roulette today, no big deal. WP is nice to run quickly, and that means good exp without taking too much time for it. Pulling the first two packs and waiting for our tonbie buddies to catch up, I go through the usual motions of AoEing the pack. DPS are doing fine, no problem. Then I notice Physick is going off from my SCH constantly. I'm talking like... I get a single scratch? PHYSICK. Full health? PHYSICK. DPS gets low from standing in an AoE accidentally? PHYSICK. No Adlos, no Aetherflow, no Lustrate. Just good ol' Physick. That's pretty much the entire run: constant Physicks every time we got a pack, nonstop. No DPSing, no DoTs, no shields, no Aetherflow. Just Physick. Thankfully, WP normal being what it is, it's still reasonably fast enough, and my DNC and NIN buddies are doing enough that there's little risk of danger.

As an addendum to this story, however, I will note that I was not aware that Aetherflow got bumped to 45 instead of being an earlier job ability, so I'm willing to give a little benefit of the doubt on not knowing about Aetherflow, even with a five-level gap. I will not excuse constant Physick at full HP or on tiny boo-boos though. :<

I generally had some really nice runs recently, or at least decent ones. But of course, something had to pop up. On my alt (one of them) I was getting my SCH leveled, already 79 so I was delighted when i saw Mt. Gulg in my roulette. It was an in progress run, but still great exp.

We slowly slog through the mobs towards the second boss. Tank pulls big and things go fine but i run out of all my cooldowns and MP after what felt like an eternity. So i try to check gear inbetween pulls and notice that our monk was missing a necklace. So i was thinking that might be the reason so when i have the chance to type during the second boss i ask them if they have one that they can equip. All i get is them eating dirt after standing in mechanics and the word „dsl“ not sure if that was related to them dying or my question.
They get a rez, die again, rez again and then i notice them sitting at awfully low HP. And ofc, they have no piece higher then lvl 71 and half of their gear was ilvl 290.

Tank kept pulling big and without any stops, no one rolled on gear and i didn't have the chance to kick them either after i asked if they had any better gear and got no response. So it was a slog and i am questioning how you can have several jobs at 80 and not even be decked out in scaevan gear....

I look forward on any news of an ilvl restriction on leveling dungeons.
