If people would like male viera and female hrothgar added to the game, they should continue to be vocal about it. As long as no one is being disrespectful to the devs. Change won't happen if you're silent about it.

I don't think the thread itself or the discussion within the thread has much pull. However, I do think the number of likes on the OP does have some pull.

As for tumblr art, I don't really browse that, but I think I know what you mean? Like the lacey outfits on male viera? I don't like that, either. I don't really care much about how male viera's racial outfit might look since I'll just change it anyway.

Change wont happen either if they cant do it. Which is why Yoshi said they Cant say it will or wont happen.

Yoshi P said the team was going to look into feedback, and examine the "temperature" of this request in an interview. If we're not vocal, it'll go "cold" for a lack of a better word. Since he said they are willing to look at feedback, I think it's best to be vocal.

We don't know for sure if the dev can or can't do it, but judging by some interviews, it doesn't seem like the genders or even new races are entirely off the table.

Q) As a follow up, is the team considering adding the other gender for these two races in future expansions?

A) Short answer is we haven’t made a decision on that. The reason why we can’t say for sure. We need to optimize our work flow with the existing races and the new ones. After that, perhaps we do the other gender. But we don’t know right now.

We did consider Male Viera instead of adding an extra race, but we tried to take player feedback on adding a more beast like race as well as the strong desire to receive Viera. We did expect strong feedback on the gender lock. It was a tough decision, but we decided to do our best to meet both the player feedback and our development team’s vision. It will be very costly to add a new race or genders. So I won’t say no, but I would not like to set expectations high."

Q) With Viera and Hrothgar being the last new races to be introduced to the game, are there any plans on adding more base customization options to the established races?

A) As long as it doesn't affect the shape of the body or the different faces, and if these are in fact the last races that we are going to be adding, then there is a possibility that we might expand on that customizable element. If the customization involves changing the shape of the face or the body, we would have to address all the different gear that the characters can equip and with the sheer volume of how much gear we have, we would have to go in and manually update. It is quite difficult. Rather than that, we might have to look at it when we cross the bride, but if it is a customization option that significantly changes the shape of the races body, I think we would be better off to tackle the challenge of just introducing a new playable race all together instead.

If we're talking about how male viera should look, I think that's something the devs should decide. However, I personally prefer something more elegant, handsome, and slim, rather than bulky like highlander. I think an example of elegant, handsome, and slim would be like the high elves from tera online. Essentially, I'd prefer a bishounen type character, with a face similar to miqo'te (just like how the females have a rabbit-like nose).
