idk, but comparing housing system to dgn/raiding it a bit off..imagine portal to the dungeon is like a placard camp., and the entry is limit like the plots is an eww lmao. The rage going to be real if access to dungeon is like the random timer on the placard, and only a few can enter per days oh boy xD.

I asked that myself and tried to point out how terrible it was and got banned from this forum for 2 weeks. Be careful.

We just care about different things. But players can choose to challenge themselves in the way they want, and I choose to do so by having a neighborhood of houses. Wouldn't you say the same about the things you pursue?
Earning money in this game is laughably easy. Lets not go pretending otherwise. Hell, I made my first 10M selling baby gear when I was on Balmung. It took almost no effort whatsoever to craft. It's become even easier now with two or even one button macros. Comparing gil making to raiding is just silly.

I as a personal player has and wants to work to earn over 100 million gil. will not be unable to own a plot of land and build a house because there are no plots available. Fine I can be patient about it.

So here is what I do not understand.

Why is is the % of players or FC that can own 20 + plots have them, but I grind out far far more gil than I even need but wont be able to because of the shortage and on top of things got individuals like GU099 screaming like a 10 year old that I cant desire a instance plot? So I have over 100 mil gil but cant purchase a home because of this crisis and people are saying instance is a bad thing?

Help me understand why? I read the OP but It felt really irrelevant to the core of why individuals are upset over the housing issue. People have the means to own a home but literally are unable to because of how the housing system was coded.

Standing around a placard clicking for hours on end is not fun to just attempt to try and get a home. This promotes Botting.
Having all this gil and nothing to do with it because there are no available housing makes gil feel absolutely worthless to even have.
We are able to grind out bosses daily/weekly for an reward of better gear with Extremes and Savage content that can be fully geared within a few weeks or a month or 2. I have been searching for a house for over few months. That is not fun concept.

Why is instance housing is a bad thing again? Logistically its the spaghetti code causing the problems. But I guess the real problem with instance housing is that for those who only care about Value of the plots will scream bloody murder because instance housing will devalue real estate so incredibly fast that turns all their suppose hard work worthless. Which would bring a smile to my face for those buying upwards to 20+ plots.

After reading this thread. I really hope instance housing becomes a thing just to anger individuals that are keeping homes away from players that have the means to own one. Individuals Using real life to explain housing economics in game are idiots IMO. They may have the Economics behind it regardless of value of said home or land. but appears all they desire is to keep housing out of your average players hands. I have the ability to purchase a home as long as I can provide the cash. regardless its in LA or SF or Flint or Chicago or Dallas, I have the gil to purchase a home so why cant I? in anywhere in Eorzea.

It's rather simple to understand why people are against Instanced Housing.

If everyone could simply "obtain a house" then it would lose all value, when the housing system is meant to be a Luxury. Not a privilege. Instanced housing wouldn't even fix the "housing crisis" as-is, because it would run into the same problem Wards do. There is a limit before something snaps. You can't just keep on "adding more stuff" and hope all is well.

On top of that, if Instanced Housing were to truly become a thing (it already is. Apartments. But I digress) then it would need to be laughably terrible, or the ward housing would need to get an upgrade so the Ward Houses are still the more spacious option to keep its value. Sure, it'd be great for Apartments to be "upgradable" but to that end, that could be said for all ward housing period. I know plenty of people that have a Small and would happily pay more to get more rooms or more space (while avoiding the upgrade to a Medium) and it's a rather tricky staircase to climb.

What you kind of have to realize is that Apartments are meant to be for everyone. They're cheap, affordable and anyone / everyone can have one. It's BECAUSE of that free access, that they have to be somewhat lacking. Otherwise why buy a ward house? It was already discussed in plenty of threads that people say owning a ward house is like showing off your e-peen. But nobody really goes to the Wards in the first place, beyond either buying a house or you having a house in that ward. Pretty great trophy that nobody cares to go and look at, or see.

With the Roleplayers, Housing takes a better seat. Because people could actually host events or storygroups in their housing to get away from the central hub. To try and encourage people to look around and not just stand in the Quicksand, watching people try to out-edge each other. But beyond that?

I say this, having been in your shoes, Arthrun. I spent a few months looking for a house and I finally got one and fully decorated it. But now.. It just sits there. Regularly used for Roleplay, but nothing else. If you don't really have a main goal to use the housing outside of crafting, RP or FC-related stuff, then your time is better sunk into an Apartment. That way, you will avoid the rather sinking feeling of "I just spent most of my cash on something I thought was great, but now is kind of.. Ehh."

    (personal thoughts, at least.)

Not like there's much else to spend gil on. You can successfully play this game without spending gil on much more than repairs. A house to sink gil into is ideal, but sadly impossible for sooooooooo many. And so your gil sits there, much like your now finished house, Kenky, but much less satisfying to see. All the money in the world and nothing to spend it on just sounds so sad.

Sure, there are other things to buy, gear for alt classes, of course, and some minor cosmetic items like glamming, but when you have millions to spend all you can really do is stare at your funds while waiting for something new and obtainable to pop up. But when it comes to houses, not even the millionaires are certain of success in buying a plot.

In one sense, that's totally fair, but in another it's just sooooo sad.
