You have, as a Final Fantasy title, a distinguished and well know form of travel.
I very very frankly can't stand people in your mindset. How bout YOU just only use chocobos and shun the other mounts if you don't like them. Some of us like choices and the richness choices bring to our games. I feel like you should be back playing the old final fantasy games and shutting your gob if you don't like progress. This is their game. End of story.

And ending that rant, that mount looks aweeesoooome

I bet you're that person in real-life that has a car with chrome coming out of every orifice, clip-on spinners, and stick-on vents.

I personally wrinkle my nose every time someone pulls up beside me in a Japanese hot rod. But that's their choice.

This world would be very boring if everyone had no other options to drive but, say, a Ford Focus.

No Mustangs, no Camaros, no F-150s, no Blazers, no Beetles, no PT Cruisers, no Mini Coopers. You get a Focus, and that's it.

Now, if you like your Focus, great. Drive it to your heart's content. But some like variety.

I say bring on the mounts! I <3 Gobbues!

Do you not associate rice with Japanese food? Pizza or pasta with Italian food? Tacos or burritos with Mexican food? Burgers and fries with American food? To do so.. is that racist?

And the reason I wrinkle my nose is that I was born and raised in Detroit, the motor city (so, trust me when I say, I am well aware of how the internal combustion engine works, I don't need you to explain it to me). Most of my family works or did work in the automotive industry. So, buying American not only supports my country, but my family and my hometown.

Every single one of your posts on these forums is full of rudeness, finger pointing and name calling. But somehow, I'm the bad person, here?

This witch hunt of yours really needs to stop.
No funny... I don't associate everything Japanese and Japanese made with rice. I wouldn't even condense all of Japanese food to rice. I ate rice almost everyday growing up, so I guess I never learned to associate with it Japanese or Asian people and their ethnic "quirks".

I'm just weird like that I guess, I also don't wrinkle my nose when encountering something or someone simply because they were not made in America.

The last time I checked cars have very little or nothing to do with food. Also yes many Mexican people would find it offensive if you referred to them or really anything Mexican other than Tacos or Burritos as "Taco this" or "Burrito that", and Italians definitely don't like having their entire culture boiled downed to pizza. Many of them would find that incredibly offensive.

The more you explain yourself, yes the more you do sound like an absolutely terrible person.

No, because some of those you mentioned are the same race. Your right, cause China, Vietnam, North and South Korea, absolutely do not eat rice, its 100% restricted to Japan. In this case its called bigotry to prejudge a food to a race or a race to a food.

Actually, *dude* I drive a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee BAMF

lol @ judging people irl about stuff they like in video games. And yeah Gobbues are def flashy like chrome *rolleyes* Maybe a pen and paper RPG would be more your speed, you could be the dungeon master and control what happens and describe what things look like..but not too detailed or it would be flashy and that's no good.

Has everyone gone mad, people really do like to have something to complain about.

I guess you wouldn't. You didn't see what things were like in Detroit after the auto industry collapse. Every other house you see up for sale, foreclosed, or merely abandoned. Trained professionals with engineering degrees begging for a job at McDonalds. Families relocating to other states and leaving their lives behind because they can't make a living in Michigan. My uncle, who worked for GM his whole life, took an early retirement for fear he wouldn't otherwise get one. He was one of the lucky ones.

Things like this make you realize the importance of buying local. It's a concept that farmers' markets and small businesses thrive on. If more Americans supported their own economy, perhaps more people would have jobs.

This doesn't make me racist. It's only common sense.

Blaming the Japanese and the Japanese auto industry for all or any of that makes you a racist.

Common sense would be recognizing falling American manufacturing and design standards over the years that led to Japanese auto makers making such headway into the American market because they made cars that people wanted to buy and mismanagement at the big 3.

Deriding people for driving Japanese calls, calling them "rice grinders" (from the implication, and even your ridiculous stereotypical assertion that rice is an appropriate cultural identifier for anything Japanese), and wrinkling your nose at them just makes you sound extremely petty and really explains a lot of your racism tinged posts on this forum.

LOL, I'm not blaming the Japanese auto industry. I'm disappointed in Americans who don't support our own economy. And people like you, who clearly don't care, are a big part of the problem. It happens every day. Do you ever pick up that item you're getting ready to purchase, turn it over, and see where it's made? Do you ever opt to visit a shop owned by someone in your neighborhood instead of going to Wal-Mart? Do you ever buy your produce from local farmers, instead of something imported? Labor is outsourced and goods are imported when it could be done locally. Do you turn a blind eye, or make informed choices?

I'm not denying that there has been mismanagement within Chrysler for years, and that GM's misleading statements regarding its loan payback hasn't earned it some scorn, such as the nickname 'Goverment Motors'. But Ford refused government money and pulled itself up by its bootstraps, maintaining a level of integrity you can't help but respect. And quality? The Ford Mustang is not only an American icon, but the bare bones V6 is 305 HP and gets 31 MPG, and costs less than $25K. GT, even better. Or better yet, hand one over to Roush, Saleen, or Carol Shelby and see its full potential.

You're clearly fixated on making this into something it's not. I'm not deriding anyone, and made no such insults. In fact, I clearly said that if anyone wants to drive such a vehicle, that is their choice. I may not agree with it, but that is their choice, and I defended their right to make it.

If this is truly an issue over the choice of a nickname I used (something that is widely used by people in gearhead circles across the country every day and I have yet to meet anyone who has ever found it to be offensive), I will be the first to apologize. To anyone. Just step right up and say so. I also edited my original post just in case it really does genuinely bother someone.

However, you jumped in guns a blazin' and outright called me a racist (now deleted by the forum mods) and turned a perfectly good thread into a flame war. Again. Pretty much like the server merge thread where you irrationally and repeatedly called anyone who was in favor of regional servers racists, as well. Which leads me to believe this has nothing to do with your being 'offended'. Your rude posts, name calling, paranoia, and continual need to somehow make yourself a better person than everyone else by bringing down others indeed lead me to see how people call you elitist. I seriously can't tell if you're trolling at this point, or if you really believe the outrageous things that come out of your mouth.

All I said is that people like choices. Just like everyone has different tastes in cars, people have different tastes in mounts, so let them choose and be happy.

Japanese food is more equated to seafood than anything, this is where I think he was getting his generalization thing from, since I'll be the first to admit we eat rice with A LOT of stuff, but so do Koreans and Taiwanese.
