Meh. The men now wear maternity gowns (See the new 5.0 gear!) and well, men have been able to wear gown/dresses
for a long time in the game anyway.
It's not really a big deal. People just want more things to wear.

I mean, as it is I think the Wedding dress looks dumb on femroe. I like to wear some of the dresses, but this particular one doesn't do it for me.

This is going to be great, in ESO they allow dresses and female clothing to be worn by men and female avatars. Though from what I've seen most of the time those wearing the dresses are doing it for a joke rather than anything else. I remember there was an intense PVP group, all men, who used to wear the wedding dress.

Either way, I'm not even concerned; more amused. My concern is actually why the heck the wedding dresses/suits are all the same regarding culture. But meh, it's a game. Wear what you want buddy, even if it happens to be a bit unflattering due to the design of the piece you're wearing.

Considering how the vast majority of Casting/Healing gear has robes/dresses for both genders, I don't see how it's suddenly an issue with the wedding dress.

Almost seems like a waste of resources (unless it doesn't take a lot of work for them to do it) when it could be used on other things. At least there doesn't seem to be a blowup this time around and people yelling at the top of their lungs.

I can't find it (might be in a different topic) but someone made a post regarding how a loud minority cried about wanting males to wear the bunny outfits only to get them, have it be a thing for a short period of time, then almost no males wore it again (least as often as I been running around).

It absolutely is an arguable waste of resources. They have stated, repeatedly, that it would be 'too difficult' or 'take time' to implement various requests such as more stubble options for male characters, authentic eyebrows for highlander men, Hien's hairstyle and a fix to the texture issue with Hien's outfit.

Which begs the question as to why they are taking the time to do something like this instead. It's even worse when they excitedly responded to a request to have Y'shtola's latest outfit turned into a Mog Station item in the future. It's not as if there's a lack of people playing male characters in this game, either - so it baffles me that things such as this are treated as a priority instead.

To their credit, at least the last two casual glamours look good on male characters.

It's pretty hilarious. They talk about how difficult it is to fit outfits to the various body types, well they have to pointlessly fit a dress to each and every male race in the game. Priorities.

They're different categories of things though, with the exception of Hien's outfit, and longer hairstyles which they're not making available for either gender (eg. Ysayle and Yotsuyu, both highly requested).

The character data seems to be a rigid template that they can't easily add more elements to - and might be deeply embedded in the coding - but adding new gear items is a completely different system that's already designed to be added to and expanded indefinitely. (There's presumably an upper limit somewhere of course, but it's allowing for a lot of possible items.)

As I understand it, asking why they're adding new costumes but not character settings is a bit like asking why a restaurant is adding new recipes to their menu but they won't increase the size of the building to fit more tables in.
