No one is doubting that ANY company can change how things work. It doesn't mean we have to be happy about it, hence this thread. That being said...
Please check your facts and read the Subscriber Agreement yourself before preaching it.
That part hasn't changed in years and right now it is still "may". Not that it will be required, may be required. This new requirement isn't coming from Steam, it's coming from Square Enix. If that wasn't clear enough, the wording on the announcement is "As part of our fraud prevention measures". It actually originally said because of Steam policies and when Steam denied this SE quietly updated the text to what it is now. So frankly, you can blame us for buying the game from Steam all you want, this change is absolutely nothing to do with them. But by your logic because we bought the game on Steam we should be punished for SE policy changes. To make use of the Content and Services, you must have a Steam Account and you may be required to be running the Steam client and maintaining a connection to the Internet.
This is literally no different to if they decided to go after other specific customers who purchased the game from other specific retailers. Which in turn leads me onto where I asked you if you'd be happy if they placed restrictions on people who bought the game direct from SE:
I think you forget we can see your post history to know that's not actually true. I couldn't help notice that pretty much post you've ever made is very confrontational, but I didn't even have to go back further than the first page to see lots of examples where you are unhappy about SE decisions and voiced your complaints:
You (or anyone else) can click the little blue icon to go to any of those posts to show that I'm not misquoting you. That's just from your latest post history. So please don't tell us we should be happy with this decision by Square Enix when clearly there's lots of things you're not happy with either.
