I admire the awareness of the healing partner I had on E3N last night. I usually just ignore Tidal Wave since I'll have Surecast up for each execution of it. Just pop Surecast 2-3 GCDs after the Tidal Wave cast is finish and you'll be fine.

The SCH thought I wasn't aware of the mechanic as I stood in the middle happily DPSing and tried to Rescue me. Of course it failed because I had Surecast up but it definitely gave me a small chuckle and I do appreciate the awareness involved.

Queued into the lvl79 dungeon on my Dancer(main char) today for leveling roulette. It was join in progress. Usually it's not apparent why I was a replacement, but this became apparent right on the first pull when our healer came in as join in progress as well.

Tank had tank stance up, but wasn't using total eclipse(if it's still named that), and we were all getting hit by mobs but I was getting hit by the most since.. DNC = AOE God. At this point our healer, a SCH was telling the tank to use their AOE to establish aggro on all mobs. Tank ignores the healer and then the other DPS, a DRG, chimes in. I don't say anything verbally.. I just say to myself "why tanks are always trying to kill the Dancer ~_~...", that's kind of a rant for another story though, don't worry, I know not ALL tanks are bad :P. On the second pull, the SCH loses motivation to heal, she still does so, but isn't all there if you know what I mean. She doesn't follow for the 3rd pull, and frankly I didn't either because I did almost die on the second pull. The DRG of course didn't survive the 3rd pull and now he's explaining to the tank that they probably shouldn't jump on a job they don't know how to play (the PLD was using passage of arms for no reason for one thing, but I made use of it. O_o). SCH tells the PLD, she needs to respect her job too, and leaves. DRG leaves soon after.

I dropped, then joined some FC members for their leveling on my WHM, for what was the most insanely fun Tam-Tara run I ever had. Was a nice touch to what was previously a disastrous queue in.

I stayed up for reset. It's week seven and I was getting a new weapon. Nothing to crazy happened. I wanted to test it and queued for Expert. Got the Twinning. It was a little choppy, I blamed Xfinity. Until the healer asked if anyone else was lagging. Tank did the big pull before the second boss. And his HP hit 0 instantly. Like it didn't drop quickly. It was at 110k and then 0 with nothing in between. Everyone was like what just happened. Tank was like, I've tanked that before. Healer said the same. We we tried again and it was fine. That was just weird.

I had my reason(s). After the first two instances in rather quick-ish succession, which is for me a different feeling than it sounds to others, the heart's racing like many years ago during my driving lessons , but nontheless it worked and I plan to tackle as many dungeons as I can mentally handle for my "plan" to work. Kinda another sort of "thrill" and viewing the battle from a different PoV. During Tam-Tara I had an Archer who seemed a bit on the pull-happy side, but no probs. Unlike WAR, my shaky hands and wonky coordination skills love PLD's non-targeted AoE when it gets "hectic", especially as a clicker . I still prefer baby pulls - however one step at a time. Hm... This could also work as another blog entry xD.
I know what you mean, I think I'm doing the same thing more-or-less. WAR is my least played tank. I had an alt lying around so I made her one. And yea, I forgot Satasha, Tam-Tara, and Copperbell are thrown at you in quick succession.

Speaking of tanks, I'm leveling my GUN. Just been using roulettes and am Lv77. Was thinking to myself I should probably run Bardam's a little in case I get Doma or something. And sure enough, leveling dropped me in Doma. With just Augmented Shire gear. I tested the waters and did the first two baby pulls. Everything went fine, so I started bigger pulls. Pulled both mobs from the cannons, that was my least favorite pull to tank and heal last expansion, but it was smooth. Healer was on top of it.

Has anyone noticed a large spike in people being really incredibly rude lately? It was so great the past 2 months since SHB, but the past week or two, every duty I go in, someone has got to scream about something. Most recent was alliance roulette, got Mhach. In Ozma A and B wiped and the C healers went to raise A&B healers. A bard started screaming their head off, curse words and all, that the C healers need to stack, but it was right at the time where it does the 1 stack per alliance and since A and B were dead, 3 members of C got the stacks, so even if they had stacked, it would have wiped us all anyway with 3 hits. After the wipe they proceeded to scream multiple paragraphs of blaming literally everything that went wrong on those two healers... of course over half the instance noped out. Maybe it's about time people who subbed for SHB take a break, yeesh.

It seems like most of the anger and toxicity I hear about is centered around endgame raids. I'm not at that point yet, I am a bit scared of getting there TBH O.o

For a while with WHM I tried to use rescue productively...but it seemed to always just annoy people.

For example on O12 I used it on a blm I thought was about to get knocked off but he had surecast and I pulled him out of his circle and he got mad.

One time in the level 73 dungeon I decided to see if I could pull someone to me across the gap on the final boss. It...did not work.

So I just ended up taking it off my bar because rescue does more harm than good in my hands.

I got Rescued the other day while fighting the second boss in Mt Gulg. Well, "rescued", because they pulled me from a safe spot into two overlapping AoEs and I ate the floor. Thanks, pal.

Oof, I forgot about rescue. It's on my bar but I never use it - does more harm than good most of the time. I did use it once to save someone's life a month or so ago, though, in (I think) The Aery when a DNC tunnel-visioned and I had to rescue them into the life-saving bubble of goodliness. Outside of rare cases, it's just a one-button way to make someone mad lol

    ---------------

Not related to rescue, but yesterday I had the most chaotic run of Haukke Manor. Decided to go play some of my PGL to level it, got Haukke Manor with 3 sprouts. And boy were these some fresh lil' sprouts! None of them knew where to go so most of the time they ran around like headless chickens until I told them where they need to go. The PLD used Provoke to initiate fights and didn't use much AoE so enmity was everywhere, but he really did try to get aggro back each time. It didn't help that the BRD pulled half the fights themselves when they decided the tank was too slow lmao. Poor WHM was Cure-ing their head off keeping everyone alive sometimes, but no-one died. .....And to top it all off I realized halfway through that my job stone wasn't equipped. Oh, and I didn't remember any of my positionals for most of the dungeon.... Whoops!

Overall though it wasn't a bad run. Pretty entertaining, actually. None of them seemed to be genuinely bad, just new, and the BRD didn't seem to pull first out of maliciousness or anything. Just some lil' newbies being newbies. I kinda felt like a mom with my 3 sprout kids on a very spooky vacation.

Haven't been to this thread in months, but wanted to share a run.
After a solid week of nothing but Quarn in leveling roulette, it gave me an 8th one, but this one turned out great! The party was super efficient with damage, and I think we cleared in about 13-14 minutes. And even then there was time for fun quips in chat, and some impressively aimed Elusive Jumping from the Dragoon. We got a bit of "fun" out of the platform faces not cooperating, dying right smack dab on the square and still not activating it. Great run all around.
