Seriously though, I guess we can get a little.... obssessed... but then it's because we love the story so much we just get really into it.
I do think it's getting to the point though where some people want the story to amount to moral instruction on their view of ethics, and I don't see why it should be. I guess if a game writer wants to use it that way, fine, but it's not like I come to games for that kind of "messaging".

Me, I enjoy sometimes embracing the dark side in a game's storyline, and I also think for many a game the story is often too nuanced to make it the usual Manichean (absolute good vs evil) drivel most people are used to from many an RPG. I don't need a game writer to tell me what to think or what message I should take from a story.
