So I just tried E3N for the first time.
Some mechanics sounded like they might invite a bit of chaos but overall it looked simpyl enough. Standard markers and reacting to them with a couple of "environmental awareness" things.
Told the party I'm a first timer but that I know the theory from a guide. Just to make sure I asked wether we try to more or less split evenly during the platform split, escpecially the healers because... you know... heal range or if everyone just runs to whichever side they want. Answer was something like "lol this isn't savage". Okay, guess that's a no? Could've just said something like "you can try but it's not neccessary". After all, I was just trying to make sure I don't wipe the party with something.
The funny part is where said person spent more time on the floor than anything else because they messed up quite a few mechanics. Getting blasted of the platform, falling down when the platform crumbles, eating avoidable damage and dying from a it ("soar across the platform" thingy among other things).
It was overall pretty chaotic and we wiped two times but I was having a field day watching said person fail to death.
I ressed them, no worries, but with a shit-eating grin.

Despite people getting frustrated that this conversation is still going, I'd like to add one last thing.

I get you. Everyone else is way too hostile, in my opinion. I click off AST buffs, cause I don't need them. I'm that good. The other DPS needs them to even keep up with me. The fact that you can't click it off, is forcing a playstyle on you in all honesty. I'd probably report this as a problem to the devs - maybe even report the players who use it, but I'd make a ticket and see if it is actually reportable first.

Wow. Just wow. Saying people should report players for using Peloton. I really cannot right now. This would be the most asinine report in the history of this game - I'd hope the GM banned the person who submitted it. Purely for wasting their time in having to read it.



Unfortunately, I don't have much in lieu of DF stories other than I'm leveling DRK on my main right now. I haven't actively played the job since HW - I got it to 70 in SB, but didn't like the way it played so never used it much. It's...alright now. I'd like to enjoy it again. Because DRK was my favorite tank in HW. But there's a bit of a learning curve for me right now until I get reacquainted with it.

I did get Dun Scaith for the third time this week on my alt, though. And we didn't wipe to a single boss. People still got blown off of Deathgaze's platform though. At least that never changes.


EDIT to not further derail (and because posting limits)—

Theoretically, peloton may be forcing a playstyle - which is a reportable offense. I actually feel bad for players who have to walk slightly faster, I ACTUALLY have a heart and think this community doesn't need it. It would be great if we could get some official word on the peloton situation, maybe an update on lodestone (?).

Yeah, uh huh. And forcing the rest of the party to go at a snail’s pace would fall under your “compelling a playstyle” as well. Street goes both ways. That said, I give this a 0/10 for troll post. Trying too hard, my dude.

Smh had a titania normal run today and the summoner was so weird and bad.
Basically the smn stood in phantom runes, rarely moved, didn't stand in puddles, didn't rezz me or a healer resulting in a wipe, we didn't vote kick the smn for some dumb reason but when she died, nobody rezzed her.

Judging from how the smn was, I suspected it may have been a bot since all the smn wore was the craftable lvl 80 gear. The character also had multiple classes leveled.

Could have either been a bot or a troll,I dunno.

I know for a fact I don't need the AST buffs. Content like Holminster Switch, Dohn Mheg, and Titania (normal) I'm pretty much carrying the entire raid/party. If anyone wants to keep up with my deeps, they need those AST buffs. Clicking an AST buff off is pretty much asserting dominance.

Not really one specific story, but a series of happenings over the course of the last few weeks.

What is with a lot of healers not healing themselves...at all? When I'm in 8-man parties, as healer, if I am constantly having to heal the other healer while they remain a green DPS, I have started to just let them die. I have also seen it in dungeons where a healer will not heal themselves, and cause a wipe(one was a sprout that was still learning, and took the advice offered and kept themselves and the tank as priority for heals).

It's fine if it's not instant since the person being raised should be aware enough to know when it's relatively safe to accept a raise, but letting it go for several GCD without healing them and then having them eat a raid-wide AoE and die again is far more of a waste of your resources than simply tapping them with a Lustrate or Essential Dignity is.

I just don't get this. If you are already doing good, AST cards make you better. It's not a "Here's something to help you catch up to the other DPS" buff, it's a "Here's something to make you hit harder" buff, and I am just mindboggled as to why you wouldn't want it.

I am guilty of not always healing someone right away after ressing them, but it's almost always when trying to res an entire party due to a near wipe, and trying to keep the tank alive at the same time

In my E3N and E4N runs today people died left and right (escpecially ion Titan... geez... I felt like I was only raising and running...), so of course someone who just got raised sometimes had to wait a little before getting healed back up, escpecially if Solace/ Tetra wasn't ready. But in those kind of situations it's normal because the tanks still need attention and a mechanic might force you to move etc while shit hits the fan.
But if it's just one death because someone zoned out there's no excuse to not heal them in time for the next unavoidable aoe.

It's not worth arguing with Sturm, they are pretty much trolling 24/7 as I have yet to read anything that isn't condescending. We are talking about the same one who gets a chuckle about kicking newbies for having minimum gear of a new dungeon then screaming "git gud!"

As for the dungeon as I won't be responding to their retort...

Not really a bad thing but more of a funny thing, got Akadaemia Anyder in my Expert and was the only Lalafell with 3 Male Roes. Was a quick run and did find it hilarious how the Paladin said "Protect the child at all costs!"
