Donkey Knights is an invite only Linkshell seeking specific types of players to fill a few open slots in our tightly knit group. Will you be able to pass the test?

All of our members are dedicated, active, and seek to improve the linkshell as a whole rather than themselves. We are a close group of friends, but welcome new members with open arms. If you're applying, please do not message us in game - upon receiving your application we go through a formal review where all members will vote on whether you will be eligible for a trial membership. Under this trial membership you will be tested in more ways than one to see if you do have what it takes and will fit in with our trusty crew. The trial membership will last no longer than 2-weeks, you will receive all rights and privileges as any normal member during this time, however we reserve the right to remove you from the LS. Donkey Knight members all have equal value, a member is no different from an officer and everyone should be given respect. If you're applying, in the reference question type consumer as your reference. We have a lot of fun, have scheduled end game events such as Primals, Achievements, World NM's, Instanced raids, Spiritbonding, and more.

Damage Dealers:

• At least 4 classes at 50
• These classes MUST be geared to an appropriate standard for endgame play

Mages:

• Have both CNJ and THM at 50
• MUST be willing to heal.

In addition The following abilities MUST be unlocked for all players

I applied yesterday and my application was rejected because apparently I had mistaken it for a leveling linkshell. I have Pugilist & Marauder at level 50 and the only other class I care to play and have at 50 is Gladiator (which I would level in my own time). Not sure if this changes anything or if the issue is because I don't have enough 50 classes to join, even though I don't wan't to play the classes I didn't list because I don't enjoy them.

Malevolence wrote on my application: "you may want to apply to a social linkshell that has more to offer a lower level player." So I guess I am inquiring if having two classes at 50 and having experienced most of the endgame (considering this game currently has very little endgame anyway) is considered being a lower level player. Just curious.

Regardless, instead of putting up another application since I couldn't reply to it once it was rejected, I'm asking here to clarify that I did indeed want to experience endgame and I had not mistaken the LS for a simple leveling group.

Indeed we are an end-game linkshell and not a leveling group. Most of the members of the LS have all classes at level 50 and the few who don't work together to finish up the last couple they need. It's not that you're a "low level player" but we felt that inviting you would be misleading since your two classes at 50 are PGL and MRD, which aren't really in high demand for endgame right now. Another reason (which was probably just a misunderstanding of the question) was that we asked "Which classes you have geared and are willing to play?", this was meant for endgame content (Ifrit, Moogle, Strongholds, etc). You wrote down Gladiator and Lancer, but you do not have either of those classes leveled. I apologize for any confusion in the application and I will work to clarifying this for other applicants, so I have to thank you for bringing this our attention.

Again, the main reason was that PGL doesn't fit into our Linkshells endgame demands right now, and MRD we typically use as an off-tank; however without having the other classes leveled you would not be an effective off-tank in our group. The same would apply if you did get your gladiator to level 50, you would be less effective than our current tanks for the primary reason that other classes have useful abilities for tanking.

Malevolence suggested that you apply for a leveling linkshell in hopes that you would find more people who are willing to level up in a group. Currently, there isn't much need for leveling parties in our LS and we didn't want you to be left on the sidelines during events, it's not fair to you at all. We would be happy to review your application again in a few weeks once you have achieved a few more classes to level 50 and have some gear. This in no way means we think you're a 'bad' or 'low' level player, I hope this gives some clarity to you and if you have additional questions you can leave them here or /tell me in game.

Okay, that's fine and understood. I applied fully knowing that it was an Endgame shell and not a leveling shell. I just thought it would be sufficient enough to be a "specialist" and focus on a few classes as opposed to leveling every class in the game just to be able to fill any role that is required. I'd much rather be a sharp and seasoned katana than a swiss army knife, but i guess that's not what the ethos of the shell is about. Thanks anyway. Yes, the application is slightly confusing in those parts you mentioned. Maybe a "Classes at Level 50" section would be much more clearer so the applicant could just list what they have at level cap.

I appreciate your comment but it's a little off-base. We are looking for people who are going to be able to participate in multiple endgame contents (especially as they add more). Sure, ARC is the favored class to have right now... for the Moogle fight, but its not the 'best' for Ifrit and may not be the best for 1.21 end game or a few patches down the road. There is nothing wrong with MRD, we use it quite frequently. Also, there are several strategies that work for Moogle, not just stacking ARCS. As I said in my first reply, most of our LS members have all classes at 50, so we aren't lacking ARCS and we have quite a few dedicated CON's already. We are looking for players who can fulfill multiple roles and adapt to new play styles that will progress the linkshell through endgame content. For instance, I'm prepared and ready to play Gladiator, Thm, Con, Mrd or Arc during the Moogle fight - whichever we need to fulfill at that time even if I don't personally enjoy the class I will do so in order to get a victory for the LS.
