Because it:s a video game and shouldn:t be took for a 1 to 1 to real life. We also don:t kill massive amounts of people either like we do in game but noone is talking about that are they? And they shouldn:t　cause again it:s just a video game. Now when the day comes that people can port into your front room and hug you from the tv THAT way you:d have a point... but as of right now... no. It:s not that serious I think.

There's your answer. I can't speak for everyone else obviously but I have patted countless of Lala's, typically after they greeted me. Back when I was a femroe, once in a random while, if I was wearing a large skirt, one would just pop out from underneath. Then I'd pat and we'd go our merry way.

At the end of the day, people will use all kinds of emotes on whoever feel because often, they just do it on whim and more importantly, it's a game. It's the kind of thing you think nothing of if (and a really big "if" here) you're the type of person whose fully or mostly disconnected from their virtual character.

Naturally, a completely different story for people who treat the character as an extension of themselves.
