I agree that trying out an alt first before buying a fantasia would be a better way to try out the race than using one up on a character that's further along. If and when they do this, they need to put in as much time as necessary so we don't have a repeat of the current situation where people who have grinded pvp for hours or have spent millions on hair suddenly don't have access to them anymore.

It would be an Interesting and different Dynamic, but I dont think its one that would work for the Viera. The fur I wouldn't like either, sure they are Jungle Bunnies and all, but they are a more Humanoid race, dont think they need Fur.

Don't see why not. We already have a lot of tall male races so adding another short would be better for choice. As for fur, they are half rabbit half man. Male are typically have more arm, leg, and chest hair so it would make them stand out in the crowded pretty boy male arena (Midlander, Elezen, Miqo'te). Plus it's something we don't have yet.

Agreed. Being short simply for the sake of being short seems like a poor decision.

Defining their height on the basis of a quota is silly. I am happy for their height to be in line with that of the females, i.e. around the Elezen mark. If you want a wider height range, that goes below the females' height as a minimum but to male Elezen height as a maximum, I can get behind that. Yet I don't want to see their height limited below that of the females.

Or just have them be the same size as the females? We technically only have one race where the males and females are the same height. So if we go by the whole 'well we don't have more of this' then I guess we should have this without repeating the crap that was Aura.

What happened to Au Ra was unfortunate but I don't think doing the reverse for Viera would be good. For all we know they could just save the shorter option for the Namingways/Hummingways that lived on the moon in FFIV for the eventual moon expansion and base their appearances and size off Ivalician moogles, freeing up male Viera to be similar in height to the females.

Again, making something short just to fill a quota is stupid. I'm not saying they need to be tall but to just make them short for no reason other than "I want muh short bun bois" is silly. If they're going to be inspired by elezen, I doubt they'll be shorter anyways.

This was drawn and posted to twitter yesterday by @Reirotic. In other news, the op is 3 likes away from 1800 and it's baffling how some people are ok with not having the hairs the other races have. I can only assume it's because they never grinded or bought them in the first place.

I get the mentality, if you like the race enough, and you like the select hair(s) they have, but it's the principle of the matter here. They released a less than half finished race, sure some hairs might be released in the future, but I feel like SE is treating the whole situation poorly, in my opinion. Not just the hairs, but also headgear, and the massive hrothgar issue. Food for thought, they never actually even intended to make any headgear either - no circlets, no glasses, no face masks. It was devs working on their own time that got us that. They intended to release viera/hrothgar in an even more limited state than they are already in.

It's not for the "sake of being taller", it's because the race is a naturally tall race, as described in multiple sources. Frequently described alongside Elezen, who are the closest in range to their height. Making them short would be ridiculous.
