To be on topic, just got out of an (initiated by me) vote abandoned Nabriales/The Chrysalis/Actually Hell. I had a feeling it would be as bad as it was when I saw like 4 people were new to it. Wiped about 5 times because they either couldn't grab orbs to save their life (literally), grabbed multiple of the same color in a row and died because my co-healer was garbage, didn't take comets, and didn't LB the tear.

Speaking of my co-'healer'... SCH who stood there staring into the nothingness for most of the time, never used a single Ruin OR Adlo, didn't heal people who were low - instead opting to.... put Bio on the boss! I'm sure the dead DPS appreciates your Bio and it will surely make up for the lost damage tanking the floor currently. I was constantly near out of MP despite using Lucid on CD since I had to heal 8 people essentially solo on a level 50 WHM.
To top it all off, they were a Lalafell. Just adds more kindling to the raging inferno that is my pre-existing hatred for Lalas.

First boss of Tam-Tara hard mode is NOT one you want to ignore mechanics on. If the adds aren't killed the right way, the boss just wipes everybody with several vulnerability-debuff-stacking AoEs.

That happens when you do it wrong. Everyone is supposed to stack on her booty and not kill the adds because the boss will kill them herself.

Been running Aurum Vale yesterday to get bard to Lv50. This is the story of my last run. Me, DRK, SCH, DNC.
The moment everyone loaded up, DRK immediately run and pulled EVERYTHING in the first area. The poor scholar didn't have time to summon his fairy as he scrambles to heal the tank. The healer main in me screamed internally as everyone wiped and thought "this gonna be a hectic run".

Second try, the tank waited a bit but still pull like, two groups and stopped in the middle of the area instead at the sides where it was normally done. Well, you do you tank. This was also the tank's first time in Aurum Vale so no big deal. Besides having to deal with getting aggro from patrolling mobs, it was ok. My heart was with the scholar as he tried so hard to keep the tank alive. Interestingly enough, this tank went on to pull and clear all the mobs in the area before going to the boss. More EXP so thumbs up for that!

Not much problem on the first boss except the tank did not eat his fruit while the DNC eats it at every one debuff stack. SCH did tremendous job keeping tank alive with 3 stacks. I made use of Second Wind and health pots for my own HP to help ease the SCH as much as I could. We made it through with no wipe (but close).

Onwards to the next area with Morbols and the seed, tank decided to once again, pull EVERYTHING. He kept running ahead and position himself poorly, getting everyone except myself caught in Bad Breath. Twice after we wipe the first time.

At this point I was amazed the SCH did not give up and leave the instance because I sure as hell tempted to if I was in his shoes. I pet the lalafell SCH on the head and proceed through the dungeon. The DRK learned to take his pace slower so other half of the instance went well. Still, a few close call moments but the SCH was very patient and amazing. Comms and hats off to him.

Once in a while, when i get used to running dungeon smoothly, i get a reminder that it's not always the case.
Got Dusk Vigil in leveling roulette as a tank. Healer we got was terrible. Their accessories was moslty Ironworks. The rest was like 50 ilvl stuff or lower. Not even a single piece of ilvl 90 artifact armor. Also keeping me alive wasn't really their priority. Spamming Ruin sure was. Also they haven't said anything through out the dungeon, and simply rushed to the exit once the final boss was dead.

Just had an awfull and terrible party in Mt. Gulg DF. Join in, all greet each other and we start. I've pulled a fair pack and, being PLD, were able to tank it OK with my invulnerability. Stopped to chat a little with a group and the thing I see second later after pressing "enter" - one of the DPS yolo-runs to the 1st boss and pull him while I was behind. He died before I was able to run in and pull the boss with ability. That moron had an audacity to type something in NOT ENGLISH language in chat (I still don't know how those people are able to join my PF when my settings are ENG only) and I typed a fair response - "Are you tank? No? Don't pull then". I hate the people like that... After that healer somehow managed to not being able to heal me at least to 50% HP on tank busters (and I used on them AND Sheltron, AND damage reduction CD). And the SECOND DPS somehow managed to die 3 times on simple AoE mechanick of that boss. After we killed the boss I left. Because I had a fair sense that I would spend my time and nerves in vain with such clowns...

I have one - To a group I had to leave on. My fault (sort of) I join, I'm tanking, do my spiel...

This is who I am, I'm pleased to be here, I'll do my best etc etc.

We hit the first pull and...

My buttons aren't working.

My mouse completely dies.

We make it through the pull and I explained I had technical issues. I left the duty because I couldn't get anything to work. Ended up having to unplug my mouse, reply it in, and restart my software. Without being able to use my mouse.

Was less than fun.

Uhh... actually the mechanic IS ignoring everything besides the boss. You just stack up, dps the boss and that's literally it. The boss kills the adds for you. You do nothing except dpsing the boss. You don't ignore the mechanic by ignoring everything except the boss. That IS the mechanic.

I think they're getting at the whole "don't touch the adds" thing.

The game can only be played in those four languages, though. A person who only understands, say, Spanish, would have no way of making heads or tails of any text in the game, whether it be other players or NPC's or menus. It would not be playable, so yes it is a reasonable expectation to assume a person with English checked off can understand at least rudimentary English. I don't think calling them a moron is the best way to react, but the point is valid.

Actually, the mechanic is to have the player targeted by the rain of arrow to stay stacked if there are adds, and to go away when there are no adds, because the boss does the rain of arrow more frequently than adds as there's a need to give players who didn't know the mechanic more opportunities to kill off the adds safely.

But we brute force the party-wide damage because it's manageable, so in a way, it is ignoring half the mechanic by stacking and focusing on the boss regardless of whether adds are present.
